How to Benefits of squats: this is how you should do this exercise to notice its results

If we had to choose one of the exercises par excellence to work the legs, without a doubt, we would stay with the squats. When you learn the technique, they are quite easy to do, you can do them anywhere, and they have so many benefits. In addition, squats, thanks to their versatility, have many variations to perform in a gym, such as the front squat, the sissy squat, the hack squat, etc. But in this article, we are going to focus only on the squats of a lifetime. How to do them correctly To correctly perform the squat, we have to be very clear about four points. The first is the feet, in which we have to support all our weight in three areas (as if it were a tripod), which are the heel, under the big toe, and the little finger. Therefore, it is important that the foot is kept as stable as possible and that it does not drift to the sides. Another point would be the knees, which must be kept in line with the balls of the feet so that the force exerted is as efficient as possible. It may happen that if we are not used to doing them, we do a knee valgus, which is when the knees go inward and do not align with the feet. Although this does not have to be detrimental, we are buying tickets for an injury. The third point is the hip. If we bend over a lot when doing the squat, the stimulus that our legs will take is minimal, so it is important to stay upright throughout the execution. The fourth and last point are our lumbar. Despite the fact that our hips do not flex, our lower back can do so and, although with our own body weight, in principle, it cannot cause any problem, the stimulus will be minimal. Therefore, to do it correctly, we will have to position the feet at an acromial width or a little wider. Next, we will go down until our knees reach an angle of 90° or less, and we will go up explosively without locking the knees. We can help ourselves with our arms to stay stable since at the beginning when executing this movement, it can generate a bit of instability, and we may not do the squats correctly. Benefits of squats Any type of physical activity, in general, has great benefits for our health, but there are certain exercises, such as squats, which, being so intense and mobilizing so much muscle mass, can provide us with extra benefits. Among the general benefits, we find that this exercise helps us reduce blood sugar, triglycerides, and cholesterol. Being an exercise that involves so much muscle mass, it also requires many energy sources, causing the aforementioned to decrease. This in turn causes your blood pressure to drop. When glucose and triglycerides in the bloodstream decrease, the amount of plasma in the circulatory system also decreases, so the amount to mobilize is less, so it is not necessary for the heart to pump as hard. Finally, they help us to gain muscle mass and, if we want to lose body fat, to maintain what we already have. On the other hand, it increases the force that we can exert with our legs. Also, power is the amount of force we exert per unit of time. This can do very well for our elderly, who often have mobility problems and need more care. Performing squats adapted to their physical condition could increase their self-esteem and ability to fend for themselves.
