I am sharing your tips in this blog post because freelancing is a very important skill to possess and it takes time to train the best freelancer. We cannot wait for that day when we can be our boss instead of someone else’s. So today I will list some tips about how you can become a freelancer and also share my personal experience.
How Can You Be A Freelancer If You Are Not An Athlete Yet?
You probably ask yourself: “Who am I?” Before you go forward to read any further, I want you to know that I am not an athlete but I started working as one myself. Therefore, I have a few tricks inside me…
Freelancing is a great way for me to develop skills that I didn’t know even existed, which are valuable. Freelancing would not allow me to pursue formal education. But since I already had my bachelor’s degree in computer science, I still wanted to apply my knowledge to some practical applications. So I started trying all kinds of jobs, whether they were freelance or full-time. During this journey, I learned that most clients were just plain lazy people who never wanted to do what I do, but I kept coming because I kept providing feedback.
If you follow all these steps above, then I think you will be able to start your first freelance project without a hitch. You might even start making a decent income by the end of this first phase, and then after finishing all these steps, I think you’ll be able to go back and pick up where you left off.
How To Get Started With Freelancing
Now, when I started freelancing, it took about 3 months until I could earn enough money to quit my full-time job. I tried every job that I could find. There were times I worked 4 hours a day, but my body went haywire, especially during weekends when I worked on holiday parties. However, a few companies paid me well and I found my niche. This became my source of comfort because I knew that I would make good money whenever I took a client who asked for my services. Luckily, after several interviews, I realized that my field was really broad enough to include a wide variety of professions — from nurses, doctors, lawyers, and architects to writers, designers, actors, musicians, engineers, and more.
Now to take my newfound freedom, I’m going to teach you another trick: Find a mentor.
What Is A Mentor?
A mentor is someone who has taught you a lesson, and, as you try to apply the lessons that he taught you, you pay attention to his mistakes and his mistakes. This sounds obvious, but sometimes it takes effort to do this: “But I never had a teacher, so what makes one special?” Well, it depends on a lot of factors.
A mentor provides the best learning environment for aspiring freelancers. Your mentor will show you how to navigate through every phase of your freelance career and will guide you through every hurdle and challenge that comes your way.
One thing to consider when selecting a mentor is how dedicated he/she is to help you get started in his/her field. Do they need to work as hard as you as they did as a professional athlete? Obviously, no.
A good mentor will come from anywhere in the world, but it would be best if he/she sits down with you in the same room or the same place if you work together. Imagine an entrepreneur wanting to pass down his wealth, experience, and wisdom to his kids someday. His friends are his role models and they’ve got his DNA.
A good mentor needs to be one who can match your skills and values, both professionally and personally. Sometimes that may mean finding a partner who is compatible with yours. Other times, it may be a situation where you aren’t going to start at the top yet.
So how do I choose my next mentor? I am always looking for different ways to fulfill my dreams, and I can build on previous experiences by adapting them. Also, my main focus is giving my best whenever I can. Another advantage is that I’m always looking for ways that I can improve myself.
