#1: Google
When I started my blog, I faced many limitations as a financial advisor. Finally, I could make money at that time was using Google. With this monetization strategy, you just sign up and Google gives you a code to copy and paste on your website. From there, Google does the rest, and if someone clicks and/or buys your ad, you get paid.
When I finally added to my website, I was able to receive my first $100 payment in three months. That's great, but a lot of people ask me how I make money with in the first place.
As a financial advisor, you should remember that most of the ads on my website are for financial products that pay well. If your blog is elsewhere, like food or fashion, it may take longer for your ads to pay off with your first $100 check.
#2: Text links
First, the second way to earn $100 is text links. If you're wondering what a text link is, look at any article on the web. You'll see keywords that you can click on to take you to another web page.
I did not realize for a long time that there are companies willing to pay 100, 200, even 1000 or more to link to them from your website. But I'm intrigued that some company will pay me $100 or more just to link to one of my blog posts.
Unfortunately, I learned that selling text links is against Google terms. If you do this consistently, your website will work in the long run.
Therefore, selling text links is not a long-term monetization strategy. You can do it every time without bad effects, but if you are greedy and overdo it, you will regret it.
#3: Sponsored posts
With a sponsored post, a company pays you to talk about a product or service on its website. When I first earned between $100 and $200 per sponsored post I wrote on Good Finance Centers, I increased my price over time.
How much can you earn? Alexis Schroeder, a blogger at financials, says she earns $3,000 a month with sponsored posts. However, some blogs with more traffic can earn $20,000 per sponsored post or more.
If you are planning to do sponsored posts, I definitely recommend only working with companies you trust and feel comfortable promoting. If you push anything and everything without making sure it aligns with your values, you won't gain much trust from your audience. Over time, this can try to grow your website beyond the income from sponsored posts.
#4: Affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is one of the most profitable ways to make money online. Once I was able to add affiliate links to my website, I saw my income increase within weeks!
Branches in the financial planning niche include online brokers, online banks, and financial instrument companies. This type of company pays a lot if you want to advertise.
Although the type of affiliates you work with will vary depending on your location, keep in mind that some companies will charge $100 per conversion. It is not very difficult to start earning real money with this kind of income in your time.
If you don't believe me, check out Making Sense. Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is the entrepreneur behind this blog and the founder of the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course. Through her website and course sales, Michelle consistently earns over $100,000 per month. No, this is not a mistake.
#5: Show ads
Display ads are very similar to Google, except that readers don't have to click on ads to earn money. Think of display ads as ads on your website, not on the side of the highway. With display ads, you get paid based on how many times your ad is viewed. Therefore, this advertisement will work well for you as the traffic for your website increases over time.
#6: Freelancers
Freelance writing is another way to make money online if you don't want to earn part of your income through active work. Another benefit of freelance writing is that you can gain exposure by writing for larger websites.
One of the first websites I wrote for paid $150 for one article. It wasn't much money, but I took the opportunity to improve my writing skills and get my name out there. Now, I don't write much for others, but I know many freelance writers who make $250, $500, even $1000 or more per article.
