How to be free from thoughts

Did you know that the mind thinks between 60000 – 80000 thoughts a day? That is on average 2500-3300 thoughts per hour, and the most intresting thing is that 90% of these thoughts are useless. The greatest obstacle to experiencing the reality of your connectedness is identification with your mind, which causes thoughts to become compulsive. Not being able to stop thinking is a dreadful affliction, but we do not realize this because almost everyone is suffering, so it is considered normal.

Either we think about the past or the future.  Thoughts are like impurity mixed in the river that prevents you from seeing the bottom of the river. Now you may think that if you stop thinking, then how will you plan for the future? What about your dreams? Well, I am not telling you to stop making goals for the future. What I am telling you is to set your goals and work intensely with the presence of mind. But what most people do after setting goals they start thinking about the future. "If this or that will happen one day, I am going to be happy," etc.... mind constantly projects itself to the future to ensure its continued survival and seek some fulfillment there.  The future is either imagined better or worse. If it is imagined better, it gives you hope or pleasurable anticipation. If it is imagined worse, it creates anxiety, depression. Both are illusory. And this results in denial of the present. The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. If it is misused, it becomes destructive. Actually, you don't misuse your mind. It uses you. This is the problem you think you use your mind, but it has taken you over. The good news is that you can be free from this.

Take the first step right now. Start listening to the voice of your head pay close attention to the old audiotapes that have been playing in your mind perhaps for many years. Don't judge it; observe it. You feel a conscious presence, your deeper "self" underneath the thought as you listen to the thought. You can practice this in your day-to-day life. Pay close attention to every step, every movement, feel your room temperature, feel the water when washing hands, and observe your hand's movement. Are. When you get into the car, sit for a few seconds, observe the flow of your breathing be aware of a silent but powerful sense of presence. When a thought subsides, you experience inner stillness, a gap of no-mind initially, these gaps will be shorts, perhaps a few seconds, but with intense practice, it will increase gradually. In this way, you draw your consciousness from mind activity. You become highly alert and aware but not thinking.

This is the essence of meditation. Your degree of presence determines the quality of your consciousness, and the quality of your consciousness at this moment determines the future. The difference between successfull people and unsuccessful people is the same, that is the successfull person sets a goal for the future but works for it with an intense presence of mind. In contrast, the unsuccessful person sets a goal for the future and keeps seeking any fulfillment in the future.

So make it a habit to ask yourself. What's going on inside me right now ?" "Am I in the present moment ?" this will help you to draw your consciousness in the present. And remember, Presence is the only key to freedom; you can be free from your thoughts your emotions when your focuss is in the present moment.
