It is known that staff members leave their leader not their workplace. It is mostly true in 90% of the cases. Their leader is the number one contact. You need to be the leader that makes his staff members to stick around for the way you handle and deal with any issue.
1- What leaders do:
Your role as a leader is to complete a task through your staff members. You involve your staff members and engage them in a job that needs to be done as perfect as it should and just on time, or before due date. Your concern also should be how to gain them and to get things done through them.
As a leader, you need to deal with events, programs and processes. This should be done through the practice of leadership. It is also through the important resource that, as a leader, manage to deal with immediate issues. Your staff members are this important resource. However, you are involved in your person as a leader, in developing new ways to do things. You cannot do everything yourself, that's why you have staff members, to rely on. They are your resources, with their skills, know-how, manage time and determination. They will give you the assistance and support through their own specialities.
We will focus in this part on how to be an effective leader and to manage responsiblities effectively.
Effectiveness criteria:
As a leader, you have to be knowledgeable and skilled because you will be judged on the result you have achieved and the level of competition you applied to get those results.
You will also be judged on the effectiveness performance, on how you behaved using your skills and knowledge. It means that you need to have a steady, personal rule engaged to your characteristic, on how to play the role of leadership, teamwork and communication with your staff members.
The key for success is defined by the competency framework. It is used to inform decisions, development and promotion. Leaders should know this framework and the type of behavior to cover what is expected from your staff members and to push them all of what they've got under their skin.
