How to become a listener that someone needs at a tough time?

This day's no one really has time to understand what someone is going through; it's mostly about "If you won't tell me, how will isn't it? Very few really care, and I think you're one of them. Humans are social animals, no matter how they look strong or how they are calm and compose, it's an essential part of life having someone, so we can just let go of the things we are holding into letting our mind clear breathing in fresh and clear air. So, here are some tips on how to become that listener. tips from a listener because honestly, listeners need a listener too.

Let's first understand who the listener is?

If you search in the dictionary, it's probably about the person who hears the sound or the person who's sitting in front of them. But is it really that simple? Maybe technically, yes. But, emotionally, not really. Look, honestly, if you open your ears and sit in front of someone. It'll never be going to make you a listener. You have to open your heart first and open your mind a little as an open-minded.

So, here are some tips which will help you to be that listener.

  1. Just listen:  yes, listen. Look, very few ask for help to listen to their talks because no one really wants to become a burden; most importantly, no one really wants self-pity. At that moment, someone just needs someone to be there who'll listen.
  2. Be open-minded: Trust me, as simple as it looks, being open-minded is not really that easy, especially if someone is telling you some secrets or embarrassing things. Be a little understandable before making any assumptions and try to understand the situation as a human.
  3. Don't judge them too soon:  Don't start your own story: No offense, really. But at this moment, when someone is telling you something, things that they aren't probably going to talk about with someone, there's literally not any need to interrupt. When you start telling your own problems, the main topic gets lost somewhere.
  4. Avoid unnecessary humor: It's essential to avoid cracking jokes in the wrong places; some people try to make some jokes trying to clear a sad mood but before that, understand "Is it really the right moment for that?" Laughing and making unnecessary jokes can feel like an insult.
  5. Don't give any wrong advice: If you're experienced, only try to give any financial or legal advice. Sometimes when someone is asking for your guidance, remember that your one wrong advice can create a huge impact on someone's life, no matter how small it'll feel at that moment.
  6. Be trustworthy: How will someone trust you? If you try to share someone's personal thing with someone else? When someone is telling you something personal, they're giving you their trust. So be careful with your actions.
  7. Make a comfortable environment: If someone is not comfortable around you, it won't make your conversation any easy. Find a comfortable environment for talk. Be a little free. Don't make them feel like you're doing some favor to them. It'll just create a self-pity bubble inside them.
  8. Shoulder to cry:  It gets hard at certain points; sharing your problems is not that easy as it seems. And when it gets hard to keep things inside, we cry, and it's normal. When someone starts crying in front of you, it doesn't make them weak. If someone start's to cry, just hug them, and let them know that everything will be alright.
  9. Uplift the spirit: Encourage them for positive things and self-love. At tough times make sure that someone won't feel worthless. Tell them the positive side of the story, don't accuse or blame them for their past. Make sure they are enough, always.

Most of the time, there are just some little things that matter in the end. Hope these little tips will help you in the future. Tips from a listener.
