In August, a user said on Twitter that his wife's OnePlus exploded inside their sling bag while cycling. The lady has bought a just few days back. The victim is said to have been the victim of an accident and is in shock since the incident. A Bengaluru user also posted pictures of the damaged unit. The pictures show that the rear panel is completely destroyed. The frame, side panels and display have also been burnt.
In response to the situation, OnePlus tweeted, "We are sad to hear about your experience. We are deeply concerned and would like to convey this to you. We request you to connect with us on a direct message so that we can amend and change it for you." The cause of the explosion was not known at the time.
A few days later, another case of the same smartphone exploding came to light. Fortunately, the company later clarified that the case was fake and did not involve any OnePlus products.
