How to apply for undergrad studies in the USA as an international student.
Nowadays, a large number of international students want to study in the USA. Still, due to a lack of information or a misconception, most students drop the idea. So in this article, I will tell you how you can apply for studies for an undergrad.
The first thing you should know about undergrad in the USA is that it is not easy. It is a long and hectic process to apply for it. You can apply to more than 900 universities in the USA through the common app. It is an application/website which allows you to use for undergrad in the USA. It is free to create an account in it.
After you make an account in the common app, you have to see if you are eligible for the colleges you want to apply to. The first requirement of most of the colleges in the USA is that you should have given the SAT (Standardized Ability Test) exam; you have to submit the score of this exam in your application. After you have given the SAT, you now have to provide another test, an English proficiency test. You have to either give IELTS or TOEFL. These two are the language test you have to offer, which is a requirement for the majority of the colleges.
After giving these two exams, you have to request your Teachers and Counselors for the Letter of Recommendation. You have your SAT and IELTS/TOEFL score; now, you have to grab your school transcripts of your 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th mid-year and final report. Now you have to be ready to write your SOP (Statement Of Purpose), your college essay, and your common app essay. In the SOP, you have to write why you want to apply to that college and your plans; you have to be straightforward about your purpose in the SOP. If you are an Indian student and don't have your 12th final report, you have to go to your school and request them for the 12th predicted final mark sheet. After this, you have to choose the colleges you want to apply to and a list of colleges that you want to use.
After all of these things, now you have to start applying in the common app. First, you have to complete the COMMON APP section on the standard app website or application. After you have completed the section, you have to add the colleges you want to apply for. Then you have to start applying to the colleges. To upload your LOR's and other transcripts, you have to invite your Counselor and your teacher or any other advisor through which you want to get a LOR. There will be an option in the common app to ask your Counselor, Teachers, or Advisors. The transcripts of yours will be uploaded by your Counselor, which you have requested in your profile. Then apply to your college and wait for the results.
