on Thursday announced that the next academic year
for state board schools will begin on May 16 to bring the children up to speed with the syllabus.
According to the academic calendar issued by the department of public instruction, the summer holidays will be from April 10 to May 15. Earlier, it was decided to end the current academic year by April 30 and reopen schools on June 1.
As reported by TOI, the next academic year will focus on learning recovery. "The syllabus was curtailed for this year. Next year, we will have a lot of catching up on what was lost. Hence, we will start (the year) early," said Vishal R, commissioner,

For classes 1 to 7or 8, exams will be held from March 24 to April 4. Classes 8 and 9 will have exams from March 21 to 26. The results will be out on April 9 and 7, respectively. They will be uploaded on the SATS website from April 9-16.
