How The new era of Marketing

We live in a time of change in which the essence of marketing became its agility. The evolution of the digital world constantly generates new communication dynamics. Consumers have taken an active role, from which they not only give their opinion but are also part of the transmission and virtualization of information. The revolution in digital technologies allows access to more platforms to manage contacts with consumers, to new tools for segmentation, statistics, and monitoring. In this context, companies are forced to respond to challenges that can no longer be met by traditional marketing.

It is not difficult to realize that the marketing model that companies used up to 10 or 15 years ago does not offer the same results today. Consumers have changed their ways of behaving, and this generates new needs in business, which no longer find answers in traditional strategies. Companies are faced with the obligation to innovate in terms of marketing.

In this scenario, the method that supports marketing strategies must be agility. Companies must be flexible and able to adapt quickly, modifying their decisions on the fly according to immediate results and changes in the market. Concepts such as collaborative leadership and crowdsourcing become vital in a commercial environment in which more and more information is handled at a faster rate.

Adapting to this new scheme is not an option but a necessity. Consumers are immersed in a logic of interaction that requires quick reactions and responses. In the era of pre-digital marketing, a company had to conduct market research that could take months to assess consumer satisfaction. Before that, it was only possible to find out that a customer was dissatisfied if he went to the point of sale or communicated to make a complaint. The chances that a consumer's comment would become really massive and reach other users were minimal.

Today, seconds after a product hits the market, consumers can already post reviews on social media. These comments go viral, can generate the participation of other surfers, and be seen by thousands of people in a matter of minutes. Thus, marketing times are speeding up: responses that used to take months now arrive in seconds, and companies must be prepared to respond instantly, reconfiguring their strategies to better adapt to market requirements.

This dynamic may seem desperate to some, although it has many advantages. With the necessary flexibility and adaptability, marketing strategies can be quickly optimized and corrected. This gives the possibility of achieving better results, gaining space against the competition, and reducing the margins of error. In fact, the dynamics of planning, evaluating results, and replanning post-launch for better performance take on even more centrality in this age of agile marketing.

There are already many organizations that work from this paradigm and are aware of the need to innovate and create new frameworks for marketing. The New Marketing Congress, which will be held for the first time in El Salvador between November 13 and 15, will bring together many of the specialists who are already applying strategies that adapt the commercial operation of companies to the challenges of the digital world. Without a doubt, this will be a unique opportunity to define the concepts that will mark the future of marketing, and that will allow businesses to gain space in an increasingly dynamic and competitive market.
