How the Law Against Cheapism Was Made in America?

It has been seen for a long time that untouchability, casteism and discrimination is not only done in India but also in America by Hindu fundamentalists against Ambedkarites and Bahujans. Americans felt that to save secularism in the country, Anti Caste Law has been passed to control Hindu fundamentalists.

So that caste discrimination can be ended.

In America, if any upper caste Hindu oppresses any SC ST, then legal action can be taken against them. Why is it done? It is a global problem. Honour killing keeps happening in India, but at least not in America.

Now if any Hindu group harasses Ambedkarites and Bahujans, then this law will be applicable on them. In recent years, steps have been taken to stop caste discrimination in many universities of America. Now a law has been made in the same condition in the American city of Seattle. Kshama Sawant, a member of the council that proposed the law, has said that such steps are necessary to stop caste discrimination.

The law states that just as people take food items like pickles and jams with them when they go abroad, they also take their caste with them. That is why the Anti-Caste Bill has been introduced so that upper caste people cannot discriminate against SC-ST.

Along with the people of the Dalit American community, organizations like the Ambedkar Association of North America, Ambedkar International Center, Ambedkar National Mission, Ambedkar King Study Circle and Equity Labs have contributed to this.

The initial analysis of the survey shows that 4 out of every 5 students, staff and teachers from the deprived social community in higher education in America have complained of caste discrimination.

Casteism leads to discrimination and inequality, with people being treated differently based on their caste, resulting in limited access to resources, opportunities, and rights. Efforts to combat casteism often involve legislative measures, social movements, and educational initiatives aimed at promoting equality, challenging stereotypes, and dismantling caste-based discrimination. However, despite progress in some areas, casteism remains a pervasive issue in many societies.
