Outdoor hockey is played on a rectangular field. The game is played by two teams of 11 players each. One of them is positioned in front of the goal while sporting a helmet, pads, and a J-shaped hockey stick. As one must run while carrying a ball and a stick in order to score a goal, the sport calls for a great deal of athleticism and endurance.
Making Prepared
Both captains are present for the toss that kicks off the game. Like the coin toss in other games, whoever calls it correctly gets to decide whether to pass first or pick a certain end of the field.
Including the five-minute half-time break, the game lasts for 75 minutes. There are two 35-minute sessions total. The game is interrupted by a timeout.
A Brief Overview of the Game
On the pitch, the hockey players assume their positions. One of the teams makes a center pass to open the game, then keeps attacking the opposition in an attempt to score a goal. The man receiving the center pass may only stand in the other half of the field, while the rest of his team shall remain in the area dedicated to goal defense. The person receiving the center pass may strike the ball in any direction.
While the opposition tackles them and tries to seize control of the ball, the team players continue passing the ball and hunt for opportunities to score goals.
The player passing the ball from the closest place restarts the game if it is stopped at any point due to an injury or substitution.
If a player kicks the ball outside the sideline, the opposing team's defender will receive a free kick and must place the ball within 15 meters of the boundary.
If a player kicks the ball outside the defensive line, the opponent's defender will receive a free kick and place the ball within 15 meters of the goal.
A penalty corner is given to the team attempting to score if an opponent player hits the ball outside the back line. The ball is positioned 15 meters from the goal post and in line with the back line.

If the game is tied in any way, extra time is allowed. In the event of a second draw, the winner of the game is decided by penalty flicks.

A hockey player should be able to shoot, pass, stop, push, and handle the ball with their hockey stick, to name a few more specific requirements. These skills are really impressive, but without the support of the other team members, success is simply not achievable.
No Feet
The main rule of the game is that no participant may touch the ball with their feet or any other part of their body. Only the goalkeeper has access to using their hands to catch the ball. When defending, the goalkeeper can deflect the ball with any part of their body.
