But now scientists have also presented a plan to create an artificial magnetic field on Mars.
It is still a matter of debate whether conditions conducive to life can exist or be created on Mars. Those who tried to go to Mars have not been disappointed in any way. Many similarities with Earth keep him hopeful. They talk a lot about terraforming on Mars. Due to which the temperature there can be increased more. But scientists have planned to create an artificial magnetic field on Mars, which is also the biggest and decisive difference between the two planets.
The differences and similarities between Mars and Earth have also excited scientists. The length of the day of both is the same. There is also a lot of water on Mars, but due to the low temperature, it is in the form of ice, yet it creates the possibility of a breathable atmosphere there. But one difference makes a big difference between the two. That's why a magnetic field is needed on Mars.
Having a magnetic field could protect Mars from solar winds and ionized particles. Due to the magnetic field of the Earth, high-energy charged particles do not reach its surface. They change their course so that life on earth becomes safe. Apart from this, solar winds are not able to expose our atmosphere due to this magnetic field.
Studies and research have found that ancient Mars had a thick and water-rich atmosphere, but due to the lack of a strong magnetic field, it was gradually lost. We cannot have a magnetic field like Earth on Mars. This field is created due to the dynamo effect of the Earth's core, where the movement of iron ores creates this geomagnetic field.
On the other hand, the interior of Mars is smaller and cooler. So far, humans have not developed such a big technology that they cannot start anything to make a magnetic dynamo in those conditions. But a new study has shown that artificial magnetic fields can be created on Mars.
This is not the first time that a proposal has been made to generate a magnetic field on Mars. Even before this, many proposals have been made in which it has been said to make solenoids on the ground or in orbit. Sonnies are a spring-like structure which is an electromagnetic coil. Magnetic effect is created by passing electric current in this coil.
The new study states that if we want to produce a good planetary magnetic field, we need two powerful flows of charged particles. This flow should be either inside the planet or it should be around the planet. It is not possible to create this flow inside Mars, so scientists considered another option.
