With the advancement of science and technology, telephones have been replaced by mobile phones. Wireless communication used in mobile phones makes our life easier and increases the productivity of communication.
Earlier mobile phones were only confined to SMS, call, and basic features like date and time display. But with the advancement of science and technology, simple mobile phones with limited features upgraded to new ones like camera application, radio connectivity, etc. Some phones included an option of web access too.
Still, they had some limitations. Iphones with different versions and android smartphones with a plethora of different versions eliminated the physical keyboard system of old mobiles. But as the trend of touch screen mobiles grew in the market, everything changed greatly. Now we can capture a photo in higher resolution as compared to the old one. The dual SIM feature enhanced the use of two sims in one mobile.
Touch screen smartphones have easy operating facilities than button-operated mobiles. We can swipe on the screen easily with our fingers and click on any icon we want to open. Also, a virtual keyboard such as QWERTY type makes typing easier and faster.
Mobile phones have made many cumbersome tasks simpler and easier. Earlier it used to take a lot of time to send an e-mail because of the limited number of PCs and mostly they were fixed at one place and were difficult to carry from one place to another place with ease. But now, through our phones, we can easily access our e-mail on our mobile phones, thus saving a lot of time, and large information is shared within seconds.
Another way mobile phones have impacted our life is the ease of connecting with our relatives and friends through the use of the internet. Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram have given us that provision. We can share our opinion and review related to any topic or any global issues around the world. Through various accounts, we can share our photos, videos and create our own pages.
The use of mobiles has also helped us in our daily to daily essential work. For example, we can now easily transfer money through a banking application on our mobiles, like Internet banking or NEFT transfer. One can now pay the electricity bill, water bill etc. easily sitting at home.
In the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, online work has been on the rise. Students are taking online classes from their homes, and mobile phones are contributing to it. Now they can take virtual online classes and collect the lecture notes. We can now recharge our phone easily from our mobile sitting at home. Various e-wallets have provided that facility such as Paytm, Phone pe, etc. They save a lot of time as the authentication of the customer is done by a unique OTP number.
To conclude, mobile phones have been a great asset to our daily routine work. They are easy to carry from one place to another, making them a good companion if used in the right direction and right way.
