Curtis, this man went for the morning run and collected 15000 pounds of trash. Can you believe it? Yes, it is true. Never forget that "Many droplets of water make an ocean".
Curtis lives in Madison County, Indiana, USA. One day while he was on his jogging track he saw something crazy in the creek(a small river) near his home which had a floating Mattress. So he looked down around the creek and found that it had broken chairs, old beds, carpets and even used plastic Christmas trees. Years and years of trash is floating down the river. He thought that if something has to change, then he needs some change.
He decided to clean the creek on his way on a daily basis. So he changed the jogging track through the way the rivers runs. He started collecting the trash on his daily jogging, and he started cleaning up the creek near his house. Then he extended it down the river and as days pass by, people started noticing him. Few people started following him and the way he did it. He also convinced his fellow mates to do the same as he does. This made them to collect a huge dump of trash that could have polluted the river and its environment.
Later, he thought of utilizing some of the trash he collected, so he pulled out the artist inside him and converted the trash into treasure. He painted on the used glass bottles which he collected and also made structures with some other trash. He recycled the most of the trash he could. Local media made him and his idea famous and many people gathered and decided that few days as trash collection days where more people joined and cleaned the nearby creeks and rivers. They gathered together and cleaned up seven nearby creeks.
Curtis has also planned about conducting a Trashy Olympics by joining hands with people across the nation as another way to spread the idea and get more people into it and clean up trash around all possible locations. He was recognized and rewarded for his deeds buy the government. This also became a motivational deed which helps not only the people nearby but also the environment from getting polluted more. Also, removing the plastics and toxic metals will help save the aquatic life.
People like Curtis are always necessary in our current world as more and more people are towards polluting the environment rather than cleaning it. We really should be thinking outside the box as we know if we live in the same way as we do then there would not be a future for the next generation. Already the fate of next generation is to hide the faces behind the face masks fearing out of the epidemic. So let Curtis be an example which can be taken over by many people all over the world. If this kind of small gathering of people rise-up on different part of the world, then we can expect a better future for our children.
