KAWASAKI Z900
Up next, we have the Kawasaki Z900, which is an aggressive and powerful street monster. It turns the world into a blur with a twist on the throttle. The new BS6 Z900 now has an asking price of Rs 8.34 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. Among the other street fighter motorcycles in this segment, the Z900 is the most affordable.
This time around, the Z900 gets a full LED headlight unit with chiseled Lugosi design language, making it the most aggressive looking bike in the upper-middle weight segment. The rear end of the bike is swept-up and slim for a sportier look.
Kawasaki Z900 is available in two color shades-Metallic Graphics Grey with lime Green lines and Candy lime Green with Metallic Black color elements.
Powering the Kawasaki Z900 is a four-stroke, inline 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 948cc engine with 16-value DOHC head and a multi-port fuel injection system sending in the fuel to the motor. This power plant pumps off 123.6 bhp at 9500 rpm and 98.6 NM twisting force at 7700 rpm. A slipper and assist clutch channels power to the rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission. The Kawasaki Z900 sprints from zero to 100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and continues to charge forward until it hits a top speed of 240 kmph. The safety of the rider is ensured by a multiple-level traction control system. Dual power modes depending on the usage of the bike, as the low power mode only allows 55% of the total power mode of the engine. There are three-ride modes as well - Rain, Road, Sport.
The instrument cluster is a full color TFT unit THT offers smartphone connectivity. You can connect with the Kawasaki Ideology app for accessing the ride logs, trips and other functional features. Superior handling characteristics are provided by new and improved Dunlop Sport max road sport 2 tires. A pair of 41 mm USD forks at the rear absorbs the bumps on the road and are turned to provide excellent ride and handling for its class. Both the suspension units offer rebound damping and preload adjustments. The wheel travel provided by front and the rear suspension are 120 mm and 140 mm respectively.
The braking department is taken care of by dual 300 mm semi-floating petal discs gripped by dual opposed 4- piston calipers at the front and 250 mm petal discs brake at the rear accompanied by a dual-channel, ABS.
