Tea is a famous drink and almost everybody consume tea on a daily basis. Tea is a reputed to have been discovered in China in 2737 BC by Emperor Shen Nung the father of agriculture and medicine. He one day, feeling unwell, he decided to rest under a tree. He became thirsty and boiled some water to drink. A few leaves from the tree fell into the cup but he drink it anyway. It was slightly bitter but richly flavored. He immediately felt restored. Tea as a beverage with curative properties was born.British tea cultivators were very anxious to consume Chinese tea and techniques brought to India. But in 1788 The Royal Society of Arts began deliberating on the idea of transplanting saplings from China. Then in 1824 tea saplings were discovered in Assam by Robert Bruce and Maniram Dewan.
There are over 3000 varieties of Tea, each with its own specific characteristics. The naming and growing of teas is in many ways similar to wine. The primary types of tea are black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong tea, pu-erh tea, purple tea and herbal infusions. All types of true tea actually originate from the same plant. The botanical name for the tea plant is Camellia Sinesis.
Now there are some good and bad effects of consuming tea. Tea, especially green tea is often said to be good for health. Tea contains substances linked to a lower risk for heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Tea itself appears to have no harmful effects except for a case of the jitters if you drink too much caffeinated brew. Numerous studies have shown that a variety of teas may boost your immune system, slight of inflammation and even ward off cancer and heart disease while some brews provide more health advantages than others, there’s plenty of evidence that regularly drinking tea can have a lasting impact on your wellness. But many health expert have suggested that one should not start there day with a cup of milk tea as it will lead to acidity. Tea is particularly rich in polyphenols, including catechins, theaflavins and thearubigins, which are thought to contribute health benefits, but adding milk cuts down the amount of these antioxidants making this healthy drink a source of inflammation and acidity. Milk tea can make you feel nauseated, this is due to the presence of fannins, which irritates the digestive tissues and leads to bloating, discomfort, stomach ache.
