Today is a time of increasing mental pressure among students. Along with the study load, the approach of the teachers is making even going to school a nightmare for the children. Even today, teaching methods that exploit a child's mental state have a significant impact on a child's mental development and mental health.

Are the teachers who teach by hitting and intimidation the real teachers?

It is not uncommon for many parents today to think of teachers who spank and scare them as only good, and think that even if they spank their children, it is for his own good.

Once upon a time, when we hear the news of students who committed suicide because of being beaten by teachers or because of teasing in class, what would come to your mind? You will be the first to blame the child. Not even once will the teacher be blamed. This mindset is what keeps teachers even more toxic today.

How does it affect children when teachers are toxic?

Today there are even special courses to become members. Many people join such courses daily. Many choose this field only with the intention of getting a good job. However, there are some who study this course out of sheer interest in it.

Child psychology is one of the main subjects taught in each phase of this course. Or how to handle children. After home, a child spends most of his time at school.

If you have small children in your home, you know they will have any teacher they like. They will be the children who will always say their teacher's name and show interest in going to school and studying only because of their love for that teacher.  If a child likes a teacher and wants to learn because of that teacher, then it can be said that there is a healthy teacher-student relationship.

However, not all of them create such a good school environment among the students, which affects the mental state of the children significantly. Let us examine some such cases.

1. Using harsh words

A teacher should be very careful with the words he or she uses on the students. However, where many people forget these things, it also affects children. Some teachers blame their students' parents, as well as, not infrequently, publicly make fun of them, denigrating their backgrounds, criticizing their appearance and academic backwardness.

Such public criticism can have a significant impact on a child's mental state. Such teaching approaches lead to making them mentally exhausted and reducing their interest in learning. This has a lot to do with changing the child's overall outlook on life and reducing self-confidence.

This type of approach by teachers is often one of the reasons why some students do not attend class regularly. Some even show caste-based distinctions among students. Such distinctions also affect a student's life and mood.

2. Teach by spanking and rewarding

When we hear the word ``teach and teach,'' sometimes what comes to mind is the teachers who used to beat us until we spoke well when we were studying. There are teachers who give more than one slap with both hands and feet if they ask a question and don't get it.  For some, hitting misbehaving children in a fit of anger leads to more fear and stress than it does to encourage children to improve or learn.

Now let's see how the reward is given. Give stars to children in younger classes to encourage them when they do well. Similarly, there is the method of pasting smiley stickers.  It also increases the enthusiasm of the children and helps them to improve their obedience and academic excellence. Such healthy disciplines are conducive to mental growth, while toxic disciplines lead to mental exhaustion.

3. Humiliation and comparison in front of other students

Some teachers have a habit. Mark would shout and say. Not only will they be called, but the mistakes made by them will be made public and will be made fun of and scolded. Many teachers don't think about the state of mind of a student in such a situation.

If a teacher wants to understand this kind of mentality, let's think about this context. Suppose the same teacher did something for a school need. Everyone has got their own works.  However, if the management does not like what this teacher has done and if he makes fun of and says bad things in front of other teachers, what will the listening teacher feel? The menstruating condition of the students will be more terrible than this. Especially during school education.

4. Punishment and discipline involving touching and harming parts of the body

There are some teachers. They discipline the students sitting in front of them, whether male or female, by slapping, pinching and turning their ears. Even laying hands on a child's body like this is not a sign of good teaching. This can also be considered as a violation of children's rights.   If you want to make the children understand the matter in their own way, the correct exchange of words will take place only when a teacher reaches the same level as the student by understanding the socio-psychological environment of each student.

5. Curbing children's freedom of expression

For most teachers, yes, the rabbit they caught has three horns. Only what they think is right. The teachers who think that they are the top for the children, often end up hindering even the freedom of expression of the students. Those who are not ready to listen to what the students have to say.  Even today, there is a tendency to completely silence those who express their own opinions that do not agree with what the teacher has said, and label them as defiant and argumentative. Often, it is the blow to the teachers' ego that makes the students downgrade and even silence them.  Sitting in a place where even their own opinion is not valued like this puts mental pressure on children. Moreover, such teachers will raise a people who do not have their own opinion.
