Steroids on control, TB test for prolonged cough, new guidelines for covid treatment

Don’t show force. Not all victims are victims of Kovid’s new strain of Omicron. There are also delta victims. Deadly infectious Omicron is spreading like wildfire. Omicron is much different in terms of symptoms than the previous strains. Mild symptoms like common fever, cold, cough, taste and smell are not a problem. There is no problem of shortness of breath. Many people are not even doing the test thinking it is a common fever. And those who get a positive report after testing, they are often confused about the treatment. What medicine to take, whether to consult a doctor, how much illness should go to the hospital, there is almost no ambiguity. The same drugs that were used in the previous waves of the corona, the same drugs will be used in the case of the third wave! There are a lot of questions about all that. In this situation, the center is publishing new guidelines on covid treatment to cut the fog.

A few days ago, at a press conference, VK Pal, a member of the policy commission and head of the Central Covid Task Force, warned about the excessive use of steroids in Covid treatment. The new guidelines make it clear that there is no need for steroid use in patients with moderate to mild symptoms.

The use of steroids in the early stages of covid treatment was quite common. According to experts, prolonged use of drugs such as steroids increases the risk of stage II infections. In the second wave, many recovered from covid and became infected with mycorrhizae or black fungus. The use of such drugs increases the risk.

Besides, it has been informed in the new guidelines that the application of remedicator drug should also be curbed. Only those patients who have had symptoms for ten days and are in need of oxygen can be given remedicator. This drug should not be used in patients with ventilator or on a sedative.

In many cases, even after recovering from covid, many people are suffering from cough for two to three weeks. In all those cases, testing for tuberculosis or TB is recommended in the new guidelines.

The new guideline divides the infection of covid patients into three categories – mild, moderate and severe.

Those who suffer from upper respiratory tract problems, such as nasal congestion, sore throat or burning sensation, with mild shortness of breath or hypoxia, have been reported to have mild infections, according to the new guidelines. In that case they have to be treated in isolation at home.

But those who have a fever for four or five days, with respiratory and phlegm problems, their infection is moderate. In that case they need to consult a doctor. Breathing problems, Oxygen Saturation 90-93 may require oxygen support.

However, if the oxygen saturation drops below ninety or the respiratory rate rises above thirty per minute, the infection should be considered as severe. In that case, they have been instructed to be admitted to the hospital immediately. They need respiratory support from outside. If necessary, it may be kept in the ICU.
