Natural Reasons for Population Growth:

The problem of population growth is evident in Bangladesh at present. Some natural causes are largely responsible for population growth. The reasons are- geographical location, influence of climate and climate, reduction in mortality, increase in average life expectancy, effect of eating habits etc.

Although the population has increased due to natural causes, the people of the country and its social system are mainly responsible for this problem. Different traditional rules and customs of the society become the cause of population growth. Due to these reasons, the society of Bangladesh is currently plagued with population problems.

Population growth in Bangladesh are-

- Lack of proper education and ignorance. - Child marriage and polygamy.
- The effects of poverty.
- Low standard of living.
- Religious blind faith and orthodoxy.
- Social prejudice.
- Negative attitudes about birth control.
- Lack of women's education.
- Lack of healthy entertainment.
- Hope to have a son.
- Lack of awareness.
- Financial and social insecurity.

Difficulties of population growth:

The development of a country always depends on its population and distribution. When the population exceeds the resources of the country, it becomes impossible to maintain the economic balance of that country. As a result of population growth, national life came to a standstill. The whole state has to struggle to meet the basic needs of the people.

Problems and Disadvantages of Bangladesh's Population Growth:-

- Poverty and food shortages.
- Accommodation problems.
- Decrease in per capita income.
- Rising unemployment rate.
- Decrease in the amount of agricultural land. - Obstacles to industrial development.
- Increasing the level of crime in the society. - Increase in foreign debt.
- Deterioration of values.
- Increased foreign dependence.
- Lack of treatment.
- Difficulty moving.
- The spread of unhealthy, malnourished and incurable diseases.
- Famine and epidemics.
- Environmental pollution.

Remedy for population problems: Although population is the main asset of a country, overpopulation is a curse for that country. Since population growth has become a national problem in Bangladesh, some measures can be taken to remedy this problem. They are-

- Full implementation of population policy.
- Family planning.
- Extensive spread of education across the country.
- Extension of women's education.
- Prevention of child marriage and polygamy. - Economic development.
- Changes in social and religious attitudes.
- Equitable distribution of resources and opportunities.
- Increase awareness.
- Elimination of superstition and ignorance.
