What I just explained is what I believed to be my perfect girlfriend. The whole idea came up in the water for about a decade when I had to work on a project with a woman named Sam. She was ten years older than I was, and I will never forget how I looked at her in the first place. What a mess, I thought. He had not made an effort with his appearance, he had not even shaved his hair it was visible, he was dressed as if he was twenty years older than he really was and basically he looked like he had not slept yesterday.
This may seem cruel and cruel, this is what I was used to at the time, I was ashamed to think about the way my brain was working. I am glad, though, that I have now become a better person.
Apart from these initial symptoms I should say that Sam has been nice and helpful to me for the next three months. You are probably one of the kindest and most innocent people I have ever met.
About ten weeks after I first met Sam, I began to dream about him and thought that I loved him. He had not suddenly made an effort with his appearance, he still looked dirty etc. The truth no longer mattered to me, it was what was inside that was counted.
I never told Sam how I felt as he got married, I think her husband is one of the luckiest men alive.
