Recycled Lithium Batteries as Good as Newly Mined
Lithium batteries are vast in their potential. And although most big-name companies are making great progress in these battery cells to solve many environmental issues, one issue they are still addressing is the fact that the legacy lithium-ion battery material they are building right now is not sustainable. This research could be able to help these batteries become even more sustainable.
Copper, which makes up approximately 30% of Li-ion batteries, is lightweight and can be recycled at a higher rate than lithium as proposed in many studies. Yet, isn't sufficiently this? The truth is, the answer to this question is far from a resounding yes. We are only two cycles away from going back to the nickel battery days. What can that mean for the future of lithium? Now, scientists from Quelle (http://n.quelle.com/) are trying to tackle this issue once and for all.
The Quelle scientists are using an amazing technique called biocompatibility that has made it possible to create exactly the same level of purity as new lithium-ion batteries that are being deployed in cars. Then, in a move that is set to revolutionize not only the storage of energy but the whole concept of the battery as we know it today, they achieved this by turning excess materials that could otherwise have been used on their supply.

Natural lithium in the form of magnesium might have been converted into lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NaOH). Now when added to about 5% of the manufactured lithium in what is called the NorVoltide (NM) plating chemistry. This, in turn, makes the Panasonic batteries, dubbed the pinnacle of sustainable batteries by all but the Quelle researchers, not a viable option at all.

As you can see, the Quelle engineers are the only ones using this trick. Google is just using recycled plastic pods as a composite that is only a placeholder for a later stage of refinement. So, don’t get me wrong; this is a very good thing and it will certainly help them build sustainable energy over time, but the fact that they have done this may not necessarily mean that other companies won’t do the same in the future.

Quelle is looking for the next big thing. Why else would a company go down the path that puts them on a path towards changes in every company in the world? We are already seeing early believers, or more accurately, clients, who have already invested in Quelle’s technology. These investments have led to rapid reaping of returns, resulting in the Quelle business rising with a very big shine in the New York Stock Exchange (New York: Q? ) market, pushing their shares even higher than the all-time high of their November 2019 offering.
Although the movement is very much confined to Sweden, we have yet to see other big names enter the graphene wave. Therefore, we may just see a changing landscape of which people could be wondering what level of support each company could receive by 2021. We could see much larger investors start investing, or our government would step up with investments of their own. It could change the energy and water industry forever. We are seeing a level of electrification that is at its peak, or at the very least, it is heading there. What the energy industry will require even more than ever before is to find a way to store the energies that we are generating from our many solar and wind projects. Only that is what the Quelle team has stepped up to the plate to do.
In fact, I would go so far as to say this is what the sustainable battery market is all about. It is far from merely theoretical at the moment, and more companies have the potential to invest in it or come up with a better substitute for the carbon-intensive form of batteries our planet is currently using. One thing is for sure though: even if they do achieve sustainability with their current chemistry, the fact that it is clean and recyclable ensures that the technology.
This discovery is in a very promising stage, and I doubt we will just see a new form of chemical reaction to make more efficient improvements and then go back to the owner. In the future, it will be too tempting, and potentially too profitable, for any company to not bring these innovations forward.
As such, Quelle’s market share should likely soar beyond the current mark of its peers. In just a few years, we will all have heard of the Quelle company with names such as Google powering their cars, and I�
