How rapid dissemination and transparent publishing of all research related to the eye

The eye, as one of our sensory organs and eye health is vital to human life, and the fields of Ophthalmology and Optometry are vital to restoring and promoting eye health. Damage, disfunction and loss of this organ can have significant and lifelong consequences. Visual impairment is extremely prevalent across the globe; however, a large proportion of these cases are preventable. Visual impairment not only entails a health cost to the individual, but also a significant economic burden in terms of lost productivity.

The Eye Health Gateway provides a publication venue that offers visibility to all research related to eye health by publishing it rapidly and openly for all to see. Utilising F1000Research’s unique publishing model authors can drive their submissions from start to finish, with our open post-publication peer review ensuring every step from point of publication to indexing is visible to readers.
