HOW PANDEMIC CAUSED BY COVID-19

INTRODUCTION

*Coronavirus is the infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

*Coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV2) is caused in the year 2019, so it is named as COVID-19. It was the global outbreak that originated in China. COVID-19 was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

*Coronavirus is very contagious and has quickly spread around the world. It can be characterized by shortness of breath, fever, and pneumonia; this can be fatal in severe conditions.

*SARS-CoV-2 can be transmitted through the inhalation of droplets and interaction with contaminated surfaces.

*Since the beginning of 2019, cases have been documented on every continent, starting in the Chinese city of Wuhan province over 500 million COVID-19 cases have been recorded worldwide. 

* SARS-CoV2 infection is predicted to affect over 3 billion people by November 2021, 44% of the world’s population. 

*In India, the highest COVID-19 was recorded on 6th May 2021, which is 4,14,433 cases in the single day.

 

SYMPTOMS

*Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure. The time between the exposure and the onset of symptoms is called as incubation period.

*Some common signs and symptoms having COVID-19 include fever, cough, and tiredness. Early symptoms of COVID-19 include loss of taste and smell.

*Some other symptoms of COVID-19 are shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, muscle aches, sore throat, runny nose, head ache, chest pain, pink eye, vomiting, and diarrhea.

 *Emergency medical symptoms whose individual having COVID-19 include the following:

            *Trouble in breathing

            *Persistent chest pain or pressure

            *Inability to stay awake

            *New confusion 

            *Pale or grey or blue coloured skin, lips, nail bed.

            

RISK FACTORS FOR COVID-19

*Close interaction with COVID-19 patients, particularly those exhibiting symptoms.

*Being exposed to an infectious person’s cough or sneeze.

*Being close to an infected individual while in a poorly ventilated indoor environment.

*Person’s with underlying health conditions like obesity or chronic obstruction, pulmonary disorder, severe heart disease, and kidney problems.

 

TESTING OF COVID-19

VIRAL TEST

*By examining samples from your mouth and nose, viral test seek for a current infection with SARS CoV2.

*NAAT is a type of PCR-based test. It is mostly performed in laboratory. It detects the genetic viral material.

*Antigen test is a rapid test which produces result within 15–30 mins. It is a random testing kit.

 

PREVENTION

*The USA Food and Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. FDA advised people to put the vaccine with the age of 12 and older.

*FDA also approved the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to the certain people aged 18 and older, and it causes severe allergic reaction to people.

*CDC recommends additional dose and booster dose for the people to avoid COVID-19.

*People should eat fruits to gain immunity against COVID-19.

 

CONCLUSION

*COVID-19 is a highly transmittable and severe disease, so we must get vaccinated of booster doses and additional doses to avoid COVID-19.

*People must avoid close contact with anyone who has onset symptoms

*People must keep distance from other person and avoid crowding public places.

*People should wash hands with alcohol containing hand sanitizer. People should wear face mask in public places and in hospitals. 

*People should avoid sharing dishes, glasses, towels, beds, and household utensils with infected persons.

*One person should stand 2 feet between another person.
