He also expressed regret to the Academy, from which he has now resigned. The actor's statement was as follows: "Violence in any form is poisonous and destructive, and my behaviour at last night's Academy Awards was wrong and inexcusable. Jokes about my medical condition are part of the work, but one about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to handle, and I reacted emotionally."
