The new and improved graphical interface saw people from all over the world playing against each other in FPS games and real-time strategy games (RTS games), and third-person games like Grand Theft Auto.

 

This was also the period when websites began offering online games such as Tetris, Ping Pong, Mario Bros, Super Mario, and other free online flash games and non-flash-based games for free after registering with them. It really pushed online gaming into the popular psyche.

 

The 21st century - the world is just a playground

 

The early years of the 21st century were dominated by DVD-CD-ROM. It has changed the way online games are played. The latest gaming systems, such as Sony's Play Station and Microsoft's X-Box, have networking capabilities so that people from all over the world can play with each other in real-time. The rapidly growing broadband internet services have made it possible to play these online games in a true sense.

 

The only drawback to the ever-evolving technology for online games is that what you buy today may be obsolete by next year. Luckily for serious gamers, the resale industry for these online games is huge. This resale industry is another element of the ever-changing history of online games.

 

Battletoads Zits

 

Battletoads is a video-game franchise that was first released in 1991. The first game, titled “Battletoads,” was a 2D Smash ‘em up style video game from Rare Ltd. At its release, it was one of the most advanced video games ever to be released graphically. Such a success that the game was even turned into an arcade machine in 1994 in association with Electronic Arts.

 

The original story behind Battletoads is of two teenaged, mutant toads (Not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), who are both named after skin disorders, Rash and Zits. They must save their brother, who is also named after a skin disorder, Pimple, and Princess Angelica. Princess Angelica is being kept captive by the Evil Dark Queen, the ruler of the Planet Ragnarok. They are assisted along the way by Professor T. Bird, who is equipped with a funky spaceship.

 

The main characters in the game are:

 

Rash – The most popular Battletoad. Green in Color and wears black sunglasses. Real Name Dave Shar, he is the craziest and fastest of the Battletoads.

 

Zitz – The leader of the Battletoads. Intelligent and cunning, brown in color, his real name is morgan, Ziegler.

 

Pimple – Not the smartest toad, but he is powerful with brute force. Pimple is a tank and not to be reckoned with. Often have been seen using heavy objects in attack situations. Real name George Pie.

 

Professor T. Bird – The mentor and guider of the Toads throughout their mission. Often has seen mocking the toads when they fail, as he dislikes failure.

 

The Dark Queen – An Evil Queen, to destroy the Battletoads in her ultimate mission of ruling the universe with her axis of allies. Noted that she looks strikingly similar to Elvira.
