How Omicron Corona Could Be The Beginning Of The End

The new Omicron variant of Corona has raised panic yet again, but the effect it is showing so far has also raised the possibility that it may prove to be the beginning of the end of this epidemic. Patients infected with this variant, which can spread four to five times faster than the delta variant, are getting mild symptoms and do not even need to be hospitalized. Given these facts, many officials of the Union Health Ministry are accepting this in private conversation as the beginning of the end of the corona epidemic.

The variant remains less lethal than before

However, ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bhargava is saying to wait for three-four weeks before coming to any conclusion. A senior central government official associated with corona management said that the coronavirus, which appeared in the new form of Omicron, is spreading rapidly, but the data so far has made it clear that in this sequence it is less deadly than before. has gone. Due to this people will get infected easily, but will not get sick. He said that this is how the epidemic ends. The official said that once a virus is born, it never ends, but when people do not fall ill even after being caught by it, then the epidemic caused by that virus is assumed to end. He said that in the coming times, more rapidly spreading but less lethal variants of corona may come from Omicron. As long as people don't get sick from it, there is no need to worry.

About three thousand people in the world were confirmed to be infected with Omicron

Omicron may be the beginning of the end of the corona epidemic, is less lethal than Delta. Due to this people will get infected easily but will not get sick. This is how the pandemic ends.

The head of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Bhargava, also seems to agree to a great extent. Their hesitation is about the data. According to him, till now about three thousand people have been confirmed to be infected with Omicron all over the world, of which 33 are in India. Even though all these are showing mild symptoms, but for now we should wait for more big data. He said that the situation would become clear in the coming three-four weeks whether the Omicron variant causes moderate to severe symptoms or not.

India's eye on the situation

The status of Omicron variants in the country and across the globe is being closely monitored. For this, a high-level meeting is held every day under the chairmanship of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, in which Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, K. Vijay Raghavan, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog and head of the Task Force on Corona Vaccination, Dr. VK Pal, Dr. Balram Bhargava, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan along with senior officials of the Ministry of Health are present. The data coming out in the country is also indicating that the virus is less effective than before.
