Raja and ANI first met in 1997. Then the king was 17 years old, and the queen was only 7 years old. Both the families had gone on a picnic in Thimphu. Then on October 13, 2011, the two tied the knot in a traditional Buddhist ceremony.
Coronation in royal style

The wedding was followed by the official coronation of the new Queen of Bhutan at the temple.
