NVIDIA Brings AI Power to Everyone with Project DIGITS and Grace Blackwell Superchip “Starts in May 2025”
CES 2025- NVIDIA unleashes Project DIGITS, pioneering the personal AI supercomputer It puts prodigious computational force at the fingertip of developer researchers and even the student user, and made possible by project's debut at CES 2025 – Project DIGITS, by utilizing the powerful, new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip: To democratize innovation in access through unprecedented scope availability of high performance.
Project DIGITS combines the most advanced technology with portability and affordability to let anyone working on AI prototype, fine-tune, and run large-scale AI models smoothly either on a local system or in the cloud.
Unlocking the Potential of Project DIGITS
Project DIGITS introduces a bold new way for AI enthusiasts to work on advanced models without relying on massive cloud infrastructures or expensive data centers. It is a compact system that can handle some of the most challenging AI workloads, empowering users to focus on innovation rather than logistical constraints.
Underpinning Project DIGITS is the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which boasts 1 petaflop of AI performance at FP4 precision. Such prowess empowers users to train and run large-scale AI models and even 200 billion parameters from their desktops. This supercomputer, powered by an ordinary electrical outlet, lets developers attack projects previously out of reach, previously accessible only to very large organizations
Key Features of the GB10 Superchip:
v Next-Generation GPU and CPU Integration: The GB10 integrates an NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with CUDA® cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores for exceptional AI acceleration. It's paired with a high-performance NVIDIA Grace™ CPU with 20 Arm-based cores designed for power efficiency.
v High-Speed Interconnect: The components are linked via NVLink®-C2C, a cutting-edge chip-to-chip interconnect that ensures seamless data flow and enhanced performance.
v Unified Memory and Storage: Each DIGITS system comes with 128GB of unified memory and up to 4TB of NVMe storage, which can support even the most data-intensive applications.
v Scalability: For users who require even more power, two DIGITS systems can be connected to tackle AI models with up to 405 billion parameters, making it ideal for research in fields like natural language processing and generative AI.
A Complete Ecosystem for AI Development
It's a hardware platform but designed to integrate seamlessly with the complete NVIDIA AI ecosystem, which unlocks tools and software for streamlined workflows from prototyping to production. Developers Developers will be able to develop, refine, and deploy AI models on their desktops using DIGITS with the ability to easily scale up to deployment on NVIDIA's DGX Cloud or other data center infrastructure.
Project DIGITS runs NVIDIA DGX OS, a Linux-based operating system optimized for AI workloads, ensuring maximum compatibility with NVIDIA's extensive software ecosystem. This includes:
v NVIDIA NGC Catalog: A comprehensive library of pre-trained models, SDKs, and frameworks to accelerate AI development.
v NVIDIA RAPIDS™ Libraries: Tools to speed up data science workflows.
v NVIDIA NeMo™ Framework: For fine-tuning large language models and other generative AI systems.
v Common Frameworks: Compatibility with popular frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python, and Jupyter notebooks.
For building and testing advanced applications, developers can also leverage NVIDIA's Blueprints and NIM™ microservices, which are available through the NVIDIA Developer Program. Once applications are ready for production, the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite provides enterprise-grade tools, support, and security to ensure seamless scaling.
Revolutionizing AI Across Industries
Project DIGITS is a game-changer for anyone working in AI-from students learning the basics of machine learning to researchers pushing the limits of generative AI. This platform, NVIDIA aims to bring AI into the mainstream, empowering developers to push the boundaries of innovation in fields like healthcare, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and entertainment.
Scalability and Deployment: With the unified Grace Blackwell architecture, models developed on DIGITS can be scaled seamlessly to cloud environments or large-scale infrastructure. Users can begin with low-cost, local prototyping and scale up their operations as needed, without having to change architectures or workflows.
Energy Efficiency: GB10 Superchip is very efficient in terms of energy, highly powerful in computational ability, though it takes all its power directly from a regular electrical outlet, making it perfectly practical for various users, even individual developers working alone, enterprise teams working in relatively small offices, and so forth.
Affordability and Accessibility: Priced to start at just $3,000, the Project DIGITS is accessible for a wide variety of people. NVIDIA wants none of the burgeoning AI developers in the world be limited by scarcity of high performance computing resources.
The Vision Behind Project DIGITS
Speaking about the launch, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the transformative potential of Project DIGITS: “AI will soon be an integral part of every application and every industry. With Project DIGITS, we’re putting the power of the Grace Blackwell Superchip into the hands of millions of developers, researchers, and students, empowering them to shape the future of AI.”
This initiative aligns with NVIDIA’s broader mission to accelerate innovation across industries, enabling a new generation of AI applications that can solve real-world problems and improve lives globally.
