How my 30 days was without "mobile phone"

This is the era where almost everyone bow down to use their phone, doesn't matter if someone is dying on streets take out your phone and record it, this is how the current society is. Life without a mobile phone seems to be quite impossible these days.

Earlier mobile phones were used only for calling and SMS, but now everything happens through the screen itself, may it be opening a bank account or fixing an appointment with your doctor. Knowingly or unknowingly we have become very much dependent on our mobile phones, it is like asthma patients with their inhalers.

It is fair enough if I say smartphones were a game changer. Well, you know it ! You can literally sit at home and get all your work done. To buy groceries, medicines, gadgets, food you have mobile applications and tonnes of websites. Ugh, how nice it was when mom took us to Sunday market early in the morning to buy groceries, how nice it was when we played out in parks with our mates rather than video games.

Social media, it's nice right ?, We are able to connect with everyone we knew all our life, the closest friends, our high school teachers, our old school classmates literally everyone we knew and everyone we meet in the future. What I would say is, to an extent it is good, but it is a fact that everything comes with a price and that price is the mental health of our youths, social media is exposing the younger generation to bullying, rumor spreading, unrealistic views of other people's lives and peer pressure more than ever.

I used to be a very disturbed person, there was no peace nor clarity. You would find me complaining or overthinking about all the bad stuff which was happening in my life. I didn't want to remain the same, at least that's what I would say to myself before going to bed. Day by day I started to take action, and the best thing I did was joining the gym, it was a game changer for me because of which I started to focus on one thing at least, my physical health.

As days passed, I was much better than before, I used to complain less and tried my best to stay disciplined. But that doesn't mean I was totally happy with myself, there were still some negative thoughts inside me. Occasionally, it used to f**k me up. I tried reading self-help books but, I used to be very distracted because of my phone, I would just let my problem lie there and unashamedly binge-watch series or doomscroll reels, shorts, in short just do useless and unproductive things on the phone...
