Read the article again, carefully. It does not mean "it takes more effort to get results." It says, "it takes more than effort to get results." Ah, the difference a word can make. In the country where I grew up and where I live, hard work is regarded as a virtue. I read children's books about the importance of hard work. I grew up on a farm and was proud of my hard work. Few compliments will be considered as high as, "They work hard." And for many people I know, perseverance is a very important factor. And I suspect your world is the same. As I continue to read and look at the world around me, I am absolutely convinced that the whole story. That doesn’t mean I don’t think the effort is needed, that work is needed, or that action helps us achieve our goals. Yes, we need to take action to get results. Yes, work is needed to achieve anything of value. The argument I have is not related to the word "work." It goes with the word “difficult.” Of course, some things are hard work and will always be there. Yet the hard work, too much of it takes us to the point of crashing into a concrete wall, thinking that eventually, the wall will crack, and we will break down. Can we break through a concrete wall and reach our goal with our head? Probably, but I believe there are better ways to pierce a wall! Although this analogy may be simple, and somewhat painful, I believe it has a fundamental truth for all of us. Why? We all know that there are better ways to pierce a concrete wall than to use our heads. As you read this, I am sure you can think of many tools that can allow you to be easier and more effective while creating less pain and discomfort in yourself. But unfortunately, people often feel that hard work is needed and that it takes self-sacrifice to achieve their goals. The fact is, what we really need to do is work harder. There are many things we can do to work more efficiently, including building our skills, our skills, our network, and our knowledge. All of these things are important. But none of them are very important. What Is Most Important? The most important key to achieving our goals, with a little "hard work" is within us. The most important key is the gifts of nature and the talents that lie within us, especially the unused and the unknown. In my experience, there are two ways to scratch the floor: on your hands and knees using a rag or standing on a mop. When we celebrate hard work, it is as if we are celebrating a rag. If all you have is a rag, you can certainly clean the floor. On the other hand, if you know there is a mop, can you choose a rag? The same is true of our natural gifts. We have a mop, but we rarely think about it or notice we do not use it. Three Things You Can Do Here are three things you can do today to start working smarter. Get your gifts and strengths. To use the mop, you must know that a mop exists. In order to use our unique skills, abilities, strengths, and talents, we must know that they exist. This requires that we reflect on our own strength and ask others what our power is. It will take time to meditate. It will take time. The work itself will require some effort. But the effort is well worth it. Every time we use a mop, we gain time, save energy and complete the task very quickly. Time to get your mop! Allow yourself to use them. Once we know we
.we should allow ourselves to use it. Maybe your counselor used a rag. Maybe your mom used a rag. While that may be the most effective way for them, that does not mean it is yours. Once you have identified your talents and abilities, you should let them use them. You should take the opportunity to use your unique gifts because by using them, your results will seem to come out of you. Work on self-construction. Many of us when we review our skills will identify your list of both strengths and weaknesses. This is a very good exercise. While it is important for us to recognize our weaknesses and in many cases work to improve them, it is equally important that we continue to develop and strengthen our great gifts and strengths. Consider spending at least as much time as possible developing and building your strengths as you do in improving or refining your weaknesses. Also, you will get great results from these efforts because they will come easily and naturally. When you do these three things, you will start to make your job easier and more enjoyable. At the same time, you will likely find that your results will come quickly and completely. What could be better than that? The results we want, with less effort and more fun. Remember, it takes more than effort to get results; it requires wisdom, knowledge, enlightenment, effort. Time to get to work.
