This story is very old. At that time Mahatma was traveling all over India and spreading the teachings of religion.
In connection with preaching religion, he was roaming in a village with some of his followers. He had become very thirsty after traveling for a long time.
Seeing his thirst increasing, he asked a disciple to bring water from a nearby village. When the disciple reached the village, he saw a small river flowing there in which many people were cleaning their clothes and many were bathing their cows. Due to this the river water had become quite dirty.
Seeing the condition of the river water, the disciple felt that it would not be appropriate for Guruji to carry this dirty water. In this way he came back without water. But here Guruji's throat was going dry due to thirst. So again he sent another disciple to bring water. This time the disciple brought water in a pot for him.
Seeing this the Mahatma was a little surprised. He asked the disciple that the water of the river flowing in the village was dirty, then where did he get this water from?
The disciple said - 'Yes Guruji, the water of that river was really very dirty, but when everyone finished their work and went away, I stayed there for some time and waited for the soil mixed in the water to settle in the bottom of the river. When the soil settled down the water became clear. I have brought the same water
Mahatma was very happy to hear this answer of the disciple and gave a lesson to other disciples that our life is also like the water of the river. By doing good deeds in life, it always remains pure, but many times such moments come in life when our life gets surrounded by sorrows and problems, in such a situation, this water like life also starts looking dirty.
Friends, therefore we should not lose our courage after seeing sorrows and evils in life and should be patient, these problems like dirt gradually disappear on their own.
