How many people ofHundreds of India students stranded at Ukraine border

Hundreds of India students who reached the border areas of various  Ukraine such as Romania and Hungary have been stranded there for more than a day the students, many of them  from Andhra Pradesh and  arrived at the borders hoping for an early evacuation from here. But even after braving all odds in the war-ravaged Ukraine, travelling for hundreds of  in private vehicles and then trudging for tens of  have been left to the mercy of the vagaries of weather and open sky. They had to sleep in open areas. Are requesting the authorities to safely move them out of the war zone to India.  MBBS student at  National medical University and a native of  said the situation at the border is so devastating that thousands of  to spend the whole night in minus degrees temperatures. There is no help from the embassy. There is no reply for our mails or calls. We request the authorities to help us to get through the situation. Everything has got frozen in these temperatures, including our feet, said another student explained the ordeals of the Indian students at the borders. Our phone batteries are running out  to even communicate with the officials or our relatives back in India. There is a severe shortage of food and even water. We took a long travel and walked to reach the borders, but it all seems to be in vain. Two students, who received a grand welcome from their parents and government officials a native of Lakshmi  is a final year MBBS student at State medical University. I was about to complete my medical course in a couple of months. But the war has affected my studies. Holed up in a hostel building and spent sleepless nights until authorities contacted us. We were till we crossed the Romina border. Officials of the Indian embassy were very helpful. We were in west part of Ukraine where the impact of the war is slightly less. We hid in a bunker until we received a message from the Indian embassy. We walked  to cross the border and finally caught a flight to India. After waiting three hours at the border, the officials arranged a bus that took eight hours. The Indian embassy helped  a lot in this whole episode. Even our university has declared holidays till 11th March and future course of action may depend on the evolving situation.
