How many medals did India win in Tokyo Olympics 2020?

As Tokyo Olympics started on 23rd July 2021 and end on 8 August 2021. Many players from all over the world are trying hard to win, but it is not that easy. In the Olympic game, many have won medals also many had lost their game. Almost all games were played in the Olympics like hockey, badminton, football, basketball, etc.
 Like other countries, India had also won medals in games like

 

 1. Hockey

 In hockey, The Indian team won the bronze medal in Men's hockey. They beat Germany by 5-4 and claim the bronze medal for the country. The team captain is Manpreet Singh, who leads the team to the bronze medal. PR Sreejesh is the goalkeeper of the team.

 The team consists of 16 players in which Harmanpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Surender Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Birendra Lakra are defenders. At the same time, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Nilakanta Sharma, Sumit are midfielders, and Shamsher Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Mandeep Singh play as forward. 

 The women hockey team led by captain Rani Rampal shows us a great match with fourth-placed after losing against Great Britain in the bronze medal match. 

 

 2. Badminton 


 In Badminton, PV Sindhu shows great performance by achieving the second position at Tokyo Olympic 2020. She won the bronze medal in badminton. She beat China's He Bing Jiao by 21-13 and 21- 15 in a badminton match to win the bronze medal. She lost to Tai Tzu Ying in the semi-final by 18-21,12-21.

 3. Weightlifting

 In weightlifting, Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in women's 49 kg. She won the second position by lifting 115kg, but she could not lift 117 kg and lost the gold medal. She also wins many commonwealth games and world championships. She is a trainer at the sports academy which is situated in Manipur.

 4. Men's 57 kg Freestyle Wrestling 

 In Freestyle Wrestling, the 23-year-old Ravi Kumar Dahiya won silver for the country. He won the second position by defeating Zaur Uguev (Russia ). He also secures the third position in the world championship. He is a great wrestler.

 5. Men's 65 kg wrestling.

 In Men's 65 kg wrestling, Bajrang Punia won the Bronze medal for the country. He lost to Azerbaijan's Haji Aliyev in the semi-final match. He defeated Kazakhstan's Daulet Niyazbekov to won the Bronze medal.

 6. Women 's welterweight.

 In the women's welterweight match, Lovlina Borgohain won the bronze medal after losing to Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli in the semi-final by 5-0. She is the third Indian boxer who won an Olympic medal after Vijender Singh and Mary Kom.

 7. Javelin Throw

 In Men's Javelin Throw, Neeraj Chopra won the first gold medal in Tokyo Olympic 2020.
 His highest throw is 87.58 m. He is the first person who won the gold medal in Tokyo Olympic 2020 for India.
