How long would I have to starve myself to lose 20 pounds?
This is what a different weight loss strategy looks like.
When you first start your weight loss journey, the first thought you have is not about your diet. It’s about how low your food intake is, what you should cut out or how much exercise you can exercise more of. Depending on where you are and what you have endured, that’s how your weight loss journey looks. If you’re new to binge eating, it’s extremely common for your body to want to eat more food. However, that’s normal when you start to make any kind of significant change to your eating habits.
In this article, I’ll focus on how to set yourself up for success. Of course, that does not mean that you have to have a one size fits all solution or too much or too little exercise. So it is up to you to find a balance between the two of those. But however that works out, you will be able to reap the rewards of getting your weight loss goal accomplished.
When I asked two different American models to lose weight or maintain their weight and fit in their original sizes, they are very different. All of them lost the most weight. But they weren’t healthy anymore when they were in their original sizes. Let me explain.
Before cutting out what I eat, one of the models gained back almost all of the weight she lost. But that wasn’t because she had eaten too much. It was because she was drinking and smoking more than ever. She wasn’t eating the foods that she used to consume. In other words, she lost a lot of weight in a short period of time.
But instead of cutting out what she ate, she cut back on everything and everything that she was eating. Including alcohol. Her food was starting to substitute alcohol for the food that she was eating. She was on a journey of eating a lot of junk food and sugary drinks and therefore becoming obese. And she also pushed alcohol (and the food in her body) onto herself and began to develop some serious problems.
A different story happens when we lose weight and maintain our weight. If we have lost weight through exercising, it means that we have lost the weight through our own movements rather than by eating more food. If we have lost weight because of exercising, we can expect to lose the weight again very quickly as we go back to a low food intake.
Two models in my study all lost more weight than I could even imagine. I think I can easily see why. You can see why it is so easy to throw yourself off track. Remember what it’s like when you’re new? You have a lot of questions and all that you want to do is to learn how to make sense of them.
Most of the time it’s a question or two. If you are newly in the weight loss journey, most of the time, it is a question or two that will lead you nowhere, unless you want to go on a crash diet. Once you settle in and become used to the questions and answers that follow, you’ll begin to see clearly that there are answers to all your questions.
Yes, people lose weight in different ways. One way works for someone another way. What is important is that the answer doesn’t have to fit into a particular box. Being able to find the right way to lose weight doesn’t have to be that complicated. I am on my fourth "smoothie" diet, and I feel as good as I have ever felt.
My lean muscle soars above my body weight and I can ride a bike through neighborhoods like I can fly, while my face is permanently in a ball. As far as I’m concerned, I was born to be this. If I find myself in a similar situation, I am going to stick to a different type of fast food diet. While there are a few lessons that I have learned on my fitness journeys, I have been able to keep my weight loss goal on track in one way or another. By following my specific loose control-curve plan, I am able to make my weight loss goals much more possible.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to weight loss. But you may be able to learn a few interesting ways to get there.
For this article, I will focus on people who lost weight and stayed fit. But you can also keep an eye out for a different approach later on. It can’t hurt you to explore all of your options.
