A post made on the famous social media website Twitter recently garnered a lot of attention since it exposed some shocking truths to everyone about the harm Lily-Rose is in from Amber’s cult followers. The tweet read: “There's no tea to spill @PageSix. Lily Rose was so harassed on her IG post so she took it down. She's protecting herself from the fanatic Heard cult. Just look what happened with Britney Spears when she posted a JD quote, she was mass attacked by crazy pro Heard supporters.”
Many other users flocked below in the replies to express their shock and anger. One such user wrote: “Disgusting, Johnny tries to protect his kids by not mixing them in this affair, and amber's supporters do nothing but talk about them.”
Lily-Rose has been on the radar of the Amber fanbase ever since she first made a post supporting her Dad 6 years ago. But the vile response she got from Amber’s fans spamming her socials, who not only hurled at her but also went as far as death threats. In a since-deleted Instagram post from 2016, Lily-Rose defended her father’s character after news broke of Amber’s initial allegations. “My dad is the sweetest, most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and me, and everyone who knows him would say the same,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and her father, which was taken years earlier.
Years later, in her first interview after her dad’s failed defamation trial in the U.K., Lily-Rose offered a more cryptic perspective about nobody being perfect. This is all it took for the horde of Amber fans to tear her down. And Lily isn’t even their only victim, as mentioned in the tweet earlier. Even a celebrity as famous as Britney Spears wasn’t spared.
On Friday, August 5, the 40-year-old pop star posted a quotation from the 59-year-old actor on her Instagram page. “People don’t cry because they’re weak, though,” the quotation said, “It’s because they’ve been powerful for too long,” with Depp’s name attached at the end.
Despite Britney’s good intentions, her Depp quotation received a lot of criticism from Heard backers in the comments area. One person commented, “Why would you post anything said by a wife beater?”
“Your father made you the target of the Johnny Depp lawsuit. I beg you to confirm that you see this, another said.
A comment read, “F*** that wife battering piece of s***.”
Another person said, “Why is she honoring a perpetrator?”
All these Amber fans made these accusations despite knowing that the court has proven Depp to be innocent of all these charges. But social media isn’t where this hatred was limited to. It even reached the streets. We sure hope Lily-Rose remains safe from all the crazed Amber fans out there.
