These Thought-Waves are carried in all directions by the ether that fills space, and the earth's surface is covered in them, especially in areas that are densely populated.
These waves, conveying the psychological vibrations, interacting with one another, will more often than not set up mixes on one hand, or, in all likelihood kill each other then again. That is to say, just like two chemicals that have an affinity for each other, it is likely that two sets of waves of the same nature will combine when they meet. The "mental atmosphere" of places, towns, and homes, among other things,is created.
On the other hand, if currents with opposing vibrations come into contact with one another, there will be a conflict between the two, with each losing strength proportionally to its weakness. This conflict will either result in the neutralization of both currents or in a combination with average rates of vibration.
For instance, if two currents of mental energy, one representing Love and the other representing Hate, meet, they will either neutralize each other if they are equal, or if one is stronger than the other, it will continue to exist but be stripped of much of its power. We would largely be at the mercy of divergent thought currents without this neutralizing effect. Nature safeguards us along these lines, and furthermore by delivering us insusceptible to an impressive degree.
Nevertheless, these waves have a significant impact on us unless we can disperse them through knowledge of the laws and their application in practice. We as a whole skill extraordinary rushes of feeling spread over the town, city or nation, clearing individuals off their equilibrium.
Men act in a manner that they will later regret when they come to themselves and consider their actions in cold blood due to great waves of political enthusiasm, war spirits, or prejudice for or against certain people or groups.
Revolutionaries will influence them or attractive pioneers who wish to acquire their votes or support; by giving in to these waves of "contagious" thought, they will be compelled to commit acts of mob violence or other atrocities of a similar nature. On the other hand, we are all aware of how a community can experience huge waves of religious sentiment whenever there is a lot of "revival" excitement or fervor.
As far as the power of induction is concerned, the effect of these Thought-Waves is obviously very much dependent on how strong the thought or feeling being sent out is.
Thought-Waves are often referred to as "a stream of living will," and they naturally have a very strong inductive effect on the minds of those with whom they come into contact, despite the fact that the majority of people exert very little effort into the mental manifestations. However, there are occasionally thinkers who do so.
But it also follows that a lot of people thinking the same way will combine their thought currents to make a lot of mental force streams, which will produce a lot of power.
However, there is an additional aspect of the situation that we must not overlook: the attraction between minds, by which one brings to themselves the Thought-Waves of others whose thoughts are in line with their own.
Actually, the opposite is true: people's minds repel the thoughts of others whose thoughts are different from his own. The opposite is true: people's minds repel the thoughts of others whose thoughts are antagonistic to their own.
To illustrate this fact, two well-known expressions are "Like attracts Like" and "Birds of a Feather Flock Together." People who allow their thoughts to run along certain lines and their feelings to be expressed in certain ways draw to themselves the thoughts and influences of others who are keyed to the same mental key-note, according to the amazing law of attraction and repulsion of mental energy.
Additionally, they repel opposing nature's waves and influences.This is a crucial fact to keep in mind throughout daily life. Evil repels good, and good attracts good.Good repels Evil and attracts Evil. The predominant mental attitude is responsible for both attracting and repelling similar influences. As a result, pay close attention to the character and nature of your thoughts and cultivate the positive ones while suppressing the negative ones.Indeed, "a man is as he thinketh in his heart."
