How Keep Teeth Healthy

A smile can last a lifetime - if you pay attention. For that reason, it is important for parents to inculcate good oral health habits in their children ahead of time.

According to United States Surgeon Richard H. Cardona, "National Oral Call for Improvement of Oral Health", children lose more than 51 million school hours and adults lose more than 164 million hours a year due to dental visits or teeth. The national dental services bill was estimated at more than $70.1 billion in 2003.

"Oral disease affects communities across the country," explains Dr. Marsha Butler, Vice President of Colgate-Palmolive, Global Oral Health and Labor Relations. "For children between the ages of 6 and 17 here in the United States, tooth decay is more common than asthma, more common than hay fever, and poses a serious threat to the health and well-being of our children."

Recently, during the celebration of National Dental Health Month, Colgate and DRS. Cardona presented “Seven Steps to a Strong American Doctor Who,” advanced tips, with support from Colgate-Palmolive, to help maintain teeth and gums, strong and healthy:

  •  Brush your teeth and gums with fluoride brush at least twice a day, especially after breakfast and before bedtime.

  • Make a regular visit to dentist.

  • Brush your teeth daily.

  •  Use fluoride rinse to get strong, healthy teeth and gums.

  •  Limit the number of snacks you eat each day - and remember to exercise with a healthy diet and get plenty of calcium.

  • Wear mouth protection when playing sports.

  • Ask your dentist about dental sealant.

Through its Bright Smiles program, Bright Futures, Colgate has reached more than 50 million children through free dental testing, referrals and oral health education. The company has more than half of its public obligations, reaching 100 million children through these services in 2010. Bright Smiles, Bright Futures gives children the power to control their oral health and helps raise awareness of the importance of maintaining dental hygiene.

Despite the introduction of the latest oral hygiene tools such as toothpaste and toothpaste and advances in dental science, more and more people are experiencing tooth and gum-related illnesses these days than ever before.

We cannot ignore the fact that tooth decay is a very common disease in modern civilization. Modern foods and refined foods, cereals, processed or processed foods lead to a state of spongy and retractable gums. A variety of gum diseases such as pyorrhea and gingivitis are also a growing consequence of our modern lifestyle.

Chemical-based toothbrushes are often the worst problem they say they can fix, these are the things that are considered and used as such. Sadly, the results can be even worse. Alcohol in oral hygiene is associated with cancer of the mouth and throat. Fluoride in the toothpaste is already linked to cancer.

The question arises as to why you should use these methods of brushing and washing the mouth, when nature has provided a wealth of herbs and fruits that have a unique effect on oral health without the side effects altogether. These “miracles” of nature are so powerful that our ancestors have used them for thousands of years. For example, just try to press the clove between your teeth in painful situations and feel the pain go away !!
