How is the Participatory Welfare Services (PWS) Awaz ii Program working in Pakistan?

In all the four tehsils of Jhang district, there are lower-level awareness centers of the organization where any citizen can get information for solving their problems. The special feature of this program is that the volunteers of this organization are present in every tehsil, village, town, street, neighborhood who report to the awareness center under the Early Warning System where different groups are formed with the community They also identify themselves and later try to solve these problems themselves If the issue is resolved at the level of Awareness Center Tehsil then it is fine but if it is not resolved then the issue is discussed at District Forum, Provincial Forum, Federal Forum so that a solution can be found for this issue. The agency has also set up a referral directory at the district level which contains the numbers of the heads of all government agencies for the benefit of the citizens.

Recently, a woman named Sajida needed some information from the Assistant Commissioner's Office, so she got an official number from the referral directory and called, but her problem was solved over the telephone.

One woman, speaking on condition of anonymity, said her family members were not giving her a share in the property, so she complained about the relevant information center. Later, the people of the center helped her and gave her a share in the property, thus solving the problem of this woman.

Aashi Ashraf, a minority woman, said that some time ago she could not speak with confidence but thanks to the group formed under Aawaz ii program, she was encouraged to speak with confidence. She formed a group of religious minority women in which their issues were discussed every month and they were given information about government institutions, laws, policies through which they were trained. Today he is an example not only for himself but also for his community. This is the reason why he was recently awarded the Tribute Award by the Partnership Welfare Services (PWS) at Lahore PC Hotel, which encouraged him. She is now serving as one of the best female workers.

What did the Participatory Welfare Services (PWS) Awaz ii Program do on the occasion of International Women's Day?

The event was organized on the occasion of International Women's Day in collaboration with Participatory Welfare Services (PWS) Awaz ii Program and Social Welfare Department with Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Joya as a special guest. At the ceremony, 25 women were awarded by the PWS Organization and the district government for their outstanding services to women's rights.

Muhammad Ahsan Khan Sial, District Manager, Women's Rights Awareness Campaign (PWS), and Asif Munawar, Member, District Committee on Human Rights, spoke on the human rights of the Focal Person District Forum Aawaz ii program and the promotion of women's rights. Given the services rendered, the tribute award was given by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Joya, Azhar Abbas Adil, Deputy Director of Social Welfare. The women who received the award included women belonging to minorities and persons with disabilities.

District Forum Member Iram Ejaz Advocate while talking about women's rights said that women's rights have been clearly stated in the constitution and laws of Pakistan and institutions have been set up at the government level to protect their rights. Get guidance.

Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Jhang Shahid Abbas Joya said that Islam had given equal rights to women hundreds of years ago. There is a need for grassroots awareness campaigns for women's rights and the introduction of local products internationally to economically strengthen and economically empower homemade workers.

 

Deputy Director Social Welfare Azhar Abbas Adil said that it was the responsibility of the state of Pakistan to provide legitimate rights and equal opportunities to women and the state was playing a positive role in the equal provision of women's rights.
