There have been high hopes for former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoti debut feature ever since it was revealed that he was entering the film industry. The literary and technical parts of Let's Get Married (LGM) failed miserably, leaving us perplexed as to why things went wrong, despite the fact that the film's objective was to appeal to a wide range of consumers. Despite a few interesting moments here and there, the overall effect is one of clunky fillers.
A two-year relationship between Gautam (Harish Kalyan) and Me era (Ivana) is quickly introduced by director Ramesh. This is a suggestion made by the latter, before the beginning of a committed relationship. Me era expresses concerns about having to reside with Gautam mother (Nadia) after the wedding when things go well, and they decide to get married. Me era offers Gautam yet another suggestion, this time asking him to take his mother and other family members on a journey to get to know one another better. Gautam accepts and arranges a fun excursion for everyone. Things change, though, when Gautam mother learns the true purpose of the vacation.
The subsequent chain of events forces Me era and Gautam mother to embark on a journey while they explore life and themselves in a daring manner.
The premise of a daughter wishing to get to know her prospective mother-in-law better by spending time with her might have easily served as the foundation for a strong script. However, the creators of LGM have merely expanded this concept into a screenplay with sequences of forced humor and an artificial story that runs for more than two and a half hours. The families go on a trip to bond, yet none of the scenes allow for character growth in these storylines.
The main characters' confrontation with Tiger (badly created CGI) is kept until the film's closing act, which is what makes it so humorous. The inconsistent color tone and strange camera angles, which occasionally give us the impression that we are seeing a short film, are another major flaw. As a trip movie, one must become completely immersed in the characters' world to feel as though they are walking in your footsteps. But in this case, a lot of green mat sequences have been added, which makes the situation worse.
However, Harish Kalyan, Ivana, and Nadia have done a respectable job and used their on-screen presence to slightly improve some situations. The fact that the director is also the music director doesn't help in any way and leads us to believe that another option could have been better. With his characteristic charm and clever one-liners, Yogi Ba by is able to immediately grab the attention of the audience.
The finest part is that the comedian occasionally expresses his opinion, complaining that the movie's story isn't compelling enough. Just another mediocre romance drama with nothing to take home, to be honest.
Before getting married to her partner, a young girl chooses to spend time with her future mother-in-law. A pleasant and exciting voyage is what comes next.
