Pakistan's education system is considered one of the weakest in the world. When Pakistan started its journey from dictatorship to democracy in 2008, there was a PPP government in the federation and a PML-N government in Punjab. I would like to share with you my personal experience on the flaws in the education system in the two most populous provinces of Pakistan.
1st, we talk about Punjab, the most populous province of Pakistan.
There are 52470 primary, middle and high schools in the province. Regular monitoring teams have been formed for their monitoring. Assistant Education Officers are also present. After this, at the city level, a Deputy District Education Officer also handles the financial, academic and co-curricular and teacher affairs of the entire city.
But there is no team to check the balance of this whole system. Even though the Heads of Schools have full authority to use the NSB funds, the institutional buildings are crumbling. There are no playgrounds. There is no comfortable furniture.
The department has also taken the responsibility of conducting trainings for school teachers. But no results have come out for this purpose. The school department has been innovating over time. Teachers do not have to go from office to office by recording the records of teaching staff online. You can send your leave request while sitting at home. Transfer application is also provided under the online system.
In 2008, the "PAKISTAN MUSLIM LEAGUE" (PML-N) led by "Sharif", was the current Chief Minister of Punjab, and introduced reforms in the school department. As a result, the administrative affairs of the schools were facilitated, but the audit system of the schools was not improved. The biggest moment of concern in Pakistan is that institutions are not audited. If anything, the Auditor General's Department either takes something or ignores the record. Or employees are trapped by adding personal resentment. Donors at the international level are also unable to play their role in auditing their aid. But despite the deteriorating economic situation in the country, the system has improved.
After 2018, the government of (PTI) came up with the slogan of change and made schools a laboratory in which the slogan of unifying the curriculum of the whole country and the law was made but could not be implemented. Students are reading is the same as before. PTI Government, under the Chief Minister "SARDAR USMAN" and Minister of Education, decided to promoting students to next classes without examination during the COVID-19 epidemic. By promoting the students to the next class, not only the talented students and weak students but also the lottery of incompetent students started. Two years of illiterate students were promoted to the next classes. This act damaged the education system.
Sindh, Pakistan's second most populous province, has a much lower standard of education than other provinces. There are thousands of flaws in the administrative system as well as in the examination system of the students. Whenever students take the annual exam. Papers are out before the papers start. This, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. Obviously, when the paper is copied and written, what will any student understand? ۔ In the end, the only weakness between the two provinces is the flaws in the education system, If the monitoring systems in the education system as well as the private companies are attached with the Accountant General of Punjab for audit on administrative matters, it will help a lot in performing the administrative affairs better.
