Before this match, Siraj's economic rate in IPL was 9.29. But the match against Kolkata washed it all. 26-year-old Hyderabad resident Mohammad Siraj is now knocking on the doors of the selectors.

Siraj was born in Hyderabad, and his father was an autorickshaw driver. In 2015, he started his career with first-class cricket. That year he played in the Ranji Trophy match for Hyderabad.

He was the leading wicket-taker for Hyderabad in the 2016-17 season of the Ranji Trophy. He took 41 wickets in that season.

He entered the IPL in the year 2017 when Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for 2.6 crores. But in 2018, he joined the team of Royal Challengers.

Bangalore, and since then, he is a part of the Bangalore team.

In October 2017, he got a place in the national team. He was named to the team for the series of T20 matches against New Zealand. He played his first T20 International match against New Zealand, and in that match, he took the wicket of Kane Williamson. But he proved to be very expensive in the match and took one wicket for 53 runs in four overs.

In 2018, he got a place in the Test team against West Indies but did not get a chance to play Test. In the same year, he got a place in the team in the ODI series against Australia. He also played one match.

This is his only Day International match. In this match held in Adelaide, India won this match due to captain Virat Kohli's century, but Siraj proved to be very expensive, and he could not get any wicket. He conceded 76 runs in 10 overs.
