How Is Christmas Celebrated

Christmas is celebrated on December 25 every year. The festival is a celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is worshiped in Christian mythology as the Messiah of God. That is why his birthday is one of the most joyful celebrations among Christians. Although the festival is mainly celebrated by followers of Christianity, it is one of the most celebrated holidays in the whole world. Christmas symbolizes joy and love. It is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm by all, irrespective of their religion.

The season of Christmas, which begins with Thanksgiving, brings cheer and joy to everyone's life. Thanksgiving is a day when people thank the almighty for blessing them with a harvest and also show gratitude for all the good things and people around. On Christmas, people wish each other a Merry Christmas and pray that this day removes all negativity and darkness from people's lives.

Christmas is a holiday full of culture and traditions. The festival entails a lot of preparations. Preparations for Christmas start early for most people. Preparing for Christmas involves a lot of things, including buying decorations, food and gifts for family members and friends. People usually wear white or red clothes for Christmas.

The celebration begins with decorating the Christmas tree. Decorating and lighting the Christmas tree is the most important part of Christmas. A Christmas tree is an artificial or real pine tree that people decorate with lights, artificial stars, toys, bells, flowers, gifts, etc. People also hide gifts for their loved ones. Gifts are traditionally hidden in socks under the tree. There is an old superstition that a saint named Santa Claus comes on the night of Christmas Eve and hides presents for well-behaved children. This imaginary character will put a smile on everyone's face.

Little children are especially excited about Christmas because they get presents and great Christmas treats. Favors include chocolates, cakes, biscuits etc. People visit churches on this day with their families and friends and light candles in front of the idol of Jesus Christ. Churches are decorated with fairy lights and candles. People also create decorative nativity scenes and decorate them with gifts, lights, etc. Children sing Christmas carols and also perform various skits to celebrate the auspicious day. One of the famous Christmas carols that everyone sings is "Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle all the way".

On this day, people tell each other stories and anecdotes related to Christmas. It is believed that Jesus Christ, the son of God, came to earth on this day to end human suffering and misery. His visit is a symbol of goodwill and good fortune and is depicted through the visit of wise men and shepherds. Christmas is indeed a magical holiday that is all about sharing joy and happiness. For this reason, it is also my favorite festival.

Apart from religious beliefs, the festival is also known for sharing gifts with family and friends. Cute children wait for gifts from Santa all year long. The frenzy of receiving gifts grows so much that they wake up at midnight and start asking what they will get from Santa. They share their wishes with their parents, and their parents try to fulfill them in the name of Jesus.
