NEW DELHI : The public authority's warm reaction to an online media post of a senior Intel Corp. leader praising India's new semiconductor strategy is being seen as a sign that the world's biggest chipmaker is investigating setting up a fab or if nothing else a gathering, testing, stamping, and pressing (ATMP) unit in the country.
On Tuesday, Randhir Thakur, senior VP at Intel, who is likewise leader of Intel Foundry Services, commended the ₹76,000 crore motivating force plot for semiconductor plan and assembling in India, a recommendation that was endorsed by the Union bureau on 15 December.
