As we know after completion of t20s and ODIs against South Africa now the most important 2 matches of test cricket are starting from today. These two matches are way more important than concluded series of ODIs and t20s.
1.FROM PERSPECTIVE OF INDIAN CRICKET TEAM
As we know Indian cricket team is going through a transition phase where a lot of changes are on way as captaincy(rohit is 36 year old) and certain positions where we are not sure about which new or old player is going to fill this place so after conclusion of this series we can get answer because the conditions are challenging in all ways. So all the things will be tested and challenged captaincy, batting technique, bowling technique, fielding,players mindset and also all members as a team.As we haven't won any test series against South Africa in South Africa so we know the importance of each ball phase by batsman and each bowl bowled by bowlers!
BY PERSPECTIVE OF SOUTH AFRICA -
south Africa has his own concerns and pressure in this series because as a home team the pressure will be of performing well from the fans sitting outside the ground and in group as well and also of keep that streak of not losing any series yet against India in history. They are also have some spots where they are just finding a right person to fit in and also have concerns about injuries of bowlers which may give them some headache because they know this time it will not that easy to beat India with that good bowling line up even after Shami is not in the squad!
FROM PERSPECTIVE OF WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP
As we know every team's ultimate goal is to play world test championship final and hold that mace in our hand. Importance of this series is huge in perspective of that goal because both teams are probable contestant of playing final or reaching on top two so if one team is losing the series will lesser the chances of getting those spots and whoever will win the series will higher chances to get their because they lost a team which is also a contestant if one contestant in getting defeat by you directly then clearly you are going up their to achieve the goal and increasing the chances of being there.if we talk about India then if is even more important because we know winning matches in away series gives extra rating and points if they able to get those points then they just need to play well in home which is comparatively easy from winning away matches.
And on other hand opposite for South Africa because they are playing at home ground and if are not able to win these two matches then they will have to toil hard to get top two positions in world test championship rating as then they will have to win most of away matches which will be compatibly hard to do.
So now we know how important is each bowl, session,day of these two matches! , will be interesting to watch
