How important is it to have a guru in our lives?

Guru, meaning "teacher," "guide" or "master," and the suffix -ji, which is commonly used as a gender-neutral honorific in many South Asian languages. As such, the word Guruji is a very respectful and affectionate term for one's guru or spiritual teacher. It can be used especially in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. In some cases, specific spiritual teachers may be known to their students as "Guruji" in place of their actual names. To master any skill, you need a teacher who is an expert in that skill. Since they have experienced the subject their experience and skills can help us conquer that subject. Guru is not a body, Guru is light, Guru is knowledge, and light and knowledge are essential in human life. When someone's life and knowledge are inseparable, you call them Sadguru or Guru. When is it possible for wisdom to remain in you? When you are not involved in a situation. You may have noticed that you give great advice when you are not involved in a particular situation. But when you are in trouble, you don't get these thoughts. This is because wisdom appears when you are out of the mess. If there is intelligence, how can there be confusion? There will be no error at all. So, the Guru is out of trouble and one who sees chaos. Guru Purnima is a day to be grateful for this source of wisdom that keeps you balanced amid the troubles of existence and allows you to walk with confidence and vision. It is said that once a Guru is found, work is done! Some people want to try a path on their own without the help of a guru and the result will not be very beneficial and productive. Once you chart your path toward spirituality, spiritual growth becomes a continuous process as you do your 'meditation' under the discipline of your Guru. When this is done with full faith and dedication, you Will rise higher and higher on the spiritual level. Never lose faith in your Guru. Even if the water level is shallow, the suspect may drown himself. Have faith, and you will see miracles happen in your life. What is the significance of Guru's order? If the teacher's teachings seem to be contrary to the scriptures, should the disciple follow them? Even if it is something completely new, that was not practiced in the sect before? If we want to be successful in our endeavor to go back home to God, we must act very earnestly according to the direction of the spiritual master. This is the way to perfection. There is no need to worry about attaining perfection because if one follows the instructions given by a spiritual master, one is sure to attain perfection. Our only concern should be how to carry out the order of the spiritual master. A spiritual master is an expert in giving specific instructions to each of his disciples, and if the disciple follows the order of the spiritual master, that is the path to his perfection.
I want to put an example in front of you through a story:
Under the guidance of Guru, you can pass the biggest test as Ambadas did. Once Saint Swami Samarth Ramdas went on a journey with his disciples. In the afternoon, they started resting by taking a seat under the shade of a tree near a big well. Unhappily called his dear disciple Ambadas and said can you cut a branch off this tree? Student Ambadas humbly said to his Guru Samarth Swami that if you order me to remember, I will cut this branch. Hearing this, Guru Samarth Swami said okay, climb this tree and cut the branch. The leaves of that branch must have fallen in the autumn and contaminated the water of the well. The branch has to be cut from its original place. All the students were surprised to hear this order. Student Ambadas started cutting that branch. The branch had just been cut more than half it fell into the well along with Ambadas. All the students were distraught but Swami Samarth Ramdas remained calm. The one who has so much faith in his Guru, his bad luck was not possible. It is said that when Ambadas had a direct darshan of his favorite deity Lord Sri Rama in the well, he fell at the feet of Gurudev And said you have done me good. Then Guru Samarth Swami said that your welfare has been done by your devotion, and now you have become a form of welfare. Since then the name of Ambadas has become Kalyan. It is clear from this incident that the order of Shri Gurudev is paramount. Similarly, when we listen to good company and walk on the path of spirituality, we get knowledge and in the light of that knowledge, we see Lord Shiva and after seeing his supernatural form, we get salvation from release from the bondage of this false world.
