Customer service is about customer. As business owners or employees, we all have at times had to deal with an angry customer. What happens if the customer is upset with us?
Being in business does not guarantee success. The last thing a business owner does is want to lose our business, so if something goes wrong, and we are customers, do we accept it and leave permanently or do we want satisfaction. Yes, we often complain, but also maybe we will not always be a customer.
Here's a suggestion to become a more satisfied customer. Know what you want that will make you happy before you complain.
Last week I bought a pie at the national grocery market. It was for sale and when I went to eat it, it was the worst thing I ever tasted. I looked at my receipt to return it and saw that there was a $2.50 note that was charged to me for $4
On the way to the store, I decided that I would ask for a full refund and a new pie. When I went to the customer service desk, I told the working guy I was expecting my problem. They wait a bit and go into the back office. When he came out, he told me to go and get a new pie
As I looked at the pies, I could choose another fruit pie (the first one was manure) or pumpkin or lime. The main lime was $3.00 more than the actual lime, but I have eaten them at that store, and they are always good. I took the lime pie keys and returned them to the service desk, explaining that I knew that special lime pies were good, and someone asked if I would like a bag. Then he gave me a refund and I left the store
I will shop at that store again
My point in this is that if we are customers, we can find satisfaction in a bad situation by knowing what we want that will make us want, to come back. Once we know what we want, we should just ask for it. This gives the entrepreneur the opportunity to save a relationship with us, a way to get what we need to be happy.
For the customer, it is not always easy to find what can make them happy or content. As a business owner, it is a good idea to have proposals ready and employees empowered to deal with the situation.
As I said before, all we need to know is what we want and how we ask for it. Remember that it is more expensive to find new customers than to give them what they need to feel satisfied, at least in most cases.
You probably won’t be in business long before you get your first complaint. It can not help but happen: the lower customers pay nothing and expect the Earth, while the higher ones pay more but expect inhumane effort in return
As a business owner, it is a good idea to have proposals ready and employees empowered to deal with the situation.
