I believe that every passing day in our lives is becoming our past, and in the past good and bad days come to everyone. Our past is as important as our present and future. In my opinion, the past is not remembered for weeping over bad events and celebrating good ones. Rather, the elapsed time is the source of the cultivation and propagation of emotions and feelings. I too have gone through a period of life when despair piled up around me. But God blessed me with a loving being who ignited the purpose of my life.
I will never forget the global plague that struck three years ago, which left me in a state of uncertainty. This sudden global plague, dubbed Covid-19, had disrupted the entire world system. Where this epidemic has claimed millions of lives, it has also caused billions of people like me to suffer from mental depression and anxiety. There was no cure for this global epidemic except isolation. Everyone was forced to live with uncertainty and fear. Everyday life was changed completely. Most meetings, whether with friends, teachers, or relatives, took place via video conferencing. Everything started to be done online.
I could not cope with this new situation due to constant isolation and loneliness. I had many worries and concerns about my life and future. Countless questions kept my mind suspended. My parents, friends, and teachers helped me a lot to get out of this situation. In particular, the teachers of my school were trained in such a way that they could motivate the students and get them out of this difficult time.
In this regard, I would like to express my special gratitude to my physics and math teacher, Sir. Robert Russell. His kind and righteous guidance led me so beautifully out of anxiety and uncertainty that I was fully prepared to deal with this new situation. At first, I was unable to understand anything in the online classes and was lagging behind. With the help of Sir Roberts’s best planning and teaching methodology, I started to understand online teaching and I gained the same belief as before. Not only did I enjoy reading online, but I was so impressed by Sir Robert’s vast knowledge and personality that I subconsciously developed an interest in physics and mathematics.
Although the teachers in my school were hardworking and experienced, they were always striving to use their experience and wisdom to develop the mental abilities of the students and guide them towards a higher future. But, for all these, Mr. Robert’s method of teaching and explanatory style was quite unique and had their own innovation and uniqueness. He was so expert in his subjects that he explained the most difficult point so easily that we did not know when those things became part of our memory. It was his miracle that I came out of the disturbing situation amazingly in such a way that the questions that were constantly pushing me into the mire of despair, were completely eliminated.
I was ignorant of the perception and understanding of life. The trust given by him revealed the reality of life to me. What did I want? What was the right direction for my success? I was getting answers to all my questions without asking anyone. I am glad that, inspired by Sir Robert’s motivation and knowledge of the subject, I have come to recognize the purpose of my life. One day I will make a name for myself by working hard in the field of physics and by becoming a scientist I will work for the welfare of my country, nation, and the world.
I sincerely appreciate his efforts, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart to make me a worthy human being and pray that God will never allow this ocean of knowledge to dry up and keep irrigating other students like me with knowledge and grace
