💸 How I Earned My First ₹10,000 from Blogging (And How You Can Too)

🌱 Step 1: I Chose a Niche I Could Write About Consistently

At first, I tried to write about everything — travel, mindset, fashion, tech — because I thought more topics = more traffic. Nope.

What worked for me was choosing one core niche I was genuinely interested in:
Content Writing & Freelancing (stuff I was already learning and living).

That gave my blog focus and helped me build an audience faster.

Tip: You don’t have to be an expert. Just share what you learn as you go. People love real stories.

✍️ Step 2: I Wrote 5–6 Good Blog Posts (Not Perfect — Just Useful)

I stopped obsessing over making every post “perfect” and started focusing on value:

  • Answering beginner questions

  • Sharing lessons I learned

  • Keeping it simple and easy to read

Some of the blogs I posted:

  • 5 Content Writing Tips I Wish I Knew Earlier

  • Best Free Tools for Indian Freelancers

  • My Writing Routine That Helped Me Write Faster

This acted as my free portfolio.

🧲 Step 3: I Started Promoting on the Right Platforms

Instead of posting and hoping someone would find it, I got intentional with sharing.

Here's what I did:

  • Posted the article on LinkedIn (with a story-style caption)

  • Shared it in freelance writing Facebook groups (like “Content Writers India”)

  • Dropped helpful comments on Quora and added my blog link

  • Used WhatsApp Stories (yes, seriously — 2 clients came from there!)

Result: People started messaging me saying “Hey, can you write something like this for my brand?”

💼 Step 4: My Blog Got Me Clients — And That’s Where the Money Came From

Here’s the key:
👉 I didn’t wait for AdSense or affiliate links.
👉 I used my blog to attract freelance writing clients who paid me in INR.

These were my first 3 paid gigs:

  1. Blog writing for a startup founder — ₹2,500 for 2 blogs

  2. LinkedIn ghostwriting for a content agency — ₹5,000 for a monthly package

  3. Website content for a solo entrepreneur — ₹3,000 for 2 pages

That’s ₹10,500 total — all because they liked my blog writing style.

🧰 Step 5: Tools & Habits That Helped Me Get There

Here’s what really helped along the way:

  • Canva: For simple blog images and social posts

  • Grammarly: For clean, error-free writing

  • Notion: To plan content ideas and track writing gigs

  • Google Docs: For sharing drafts with clients

  • Upwork + LinkedIn + DMs: For pitching

I also made time to write at least 3 times a week and treated it like a job, not a hobby.

🧠 Final Thoughts: Your First ₹10K Is Totally Possible

I didn’t have a massive following. I didn’t spend money on ads. I didn’t wait to go “viral.”

I just:

  • Picked a niche

  • Posted blogs that helped real people

  • Promoted them in smart places

  • Turned that into writing gigs

If I can earn ₹10,000 from blogging while starting from scratch, so can you.

Start with one blog post. Share it with people who care. Let your content speak for you.
