5 Ways Stretching can Improve Your Overall Health - Dynamic Health PT
Our health, or lack thereof, can make or break us in many ways, which is why it’s important to make sure we’re doing everything we can to keep ourselves healthy and happy. There are countless things you can do to improve your health, from sleeping enough to getting proper exercise; there’s no way I could list all of them here! Instead, here are five of the most helpful strategies you can use to keep yourself feeling great and having the energy to accomplish everything you need.
1) EAT HEALTHY FOOD Healthy Eating Quotes to Motivate for Fit Body, Organic Food
Healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains have a high nutrient density. They provide vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients that help maintain good health.
Plane your diet
According to an American Psychological Association survey, stress is considered a major source of health problems by Americans. Stress can cause anxiety and depression, as well as other emotional and physical symptoms. While there are multiple steps that people take to manage their stress, it’s worth noting that exercise is one of them. Exercise releases chemicals in our brain like serotonin and dopamine, which improves mood and helps us sleep better. If you’re interested in reducing your levels of stress, try adding daily exercise into your routine! A good rule of thumb is to aim for 30 minutes per day on most days of the week. This might mean taking a walk during lunch or going for a run before dinner—or any combination thereof. Even if you don’t consider yourself active, there are plenty of ways to get moving without hitting the gym (or paying for expensive equipment).
2) DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
Dehydration is often a contributing factor in many cases of illness and poor health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that men consume roughly 3 liters of total beverages per day and women consume 2.2 liters.
3) MOVE YOUR BODY EVERY DAY
You should aim for at least thirty minutes of physical activity daily. If you don’t want to run marathons or climb mountains, that’s okay—you don’t have to be an active athlete. Yoga and Zumba are great ways to get moving; dancing with friends is another fun option. Take some time every day to get some exercise—your body will thank you!
Walk on grassy area
Walking on grassy areas is better for your feet than walking on concrete and asphalt. So, if you have access to a nice green space, walk there instead of somewhere else. This will not only give your feet a break from time spent on hard surfaces, but it’ll allow you to soak up some vitamin D (great for those brittle bones). It’s also a good idea to switch up walking locations frequently—your body needs variety in order to remain strong and healthy.
4) CALM YOUR MIND
Stress makes it harder for our bodies to heal and maintain proper health. According to studies by Stanford University, chronic stress causes hormone levels in our bodies to rise, which in turn alters a whole slew of natural processes. When we’re exposed to stress over long periods of time, our bodies continue releasing high levels of cortisol — a major component of stress. Short-term stress is normal, but chronic stress has been linked with heart disease and diabetes.
5) SLEEP ON TIME, How to Sleep 8 Hours in 4 Hours? -12 Effective Tips - AanyaLinen
If you’re always dragging yourself into work, chances are it’s because you haven’t been getting enough sleep. Make sure that, at least seven hours before work, you set a wake-up time and stick to it. Forcing yourself out of bed when your body says otherwise will only result in exhaustion and irritability—not qualities likely to make anyone want to spend more time with you. If possible, aim for eight hours of sleep every night. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age. Strength training is important because it strengthens your muscles and bones for better health and resistance against injuries. Strength training also helps with weight loss – as you gain muscle, your metabolism increases, which allow you to better convert calories into energy. Strength is associated with a better quality of life, improved performance in carrying out day-to-day functional tasks and – in the most basic sense – it keeps muscles, bones and joints strong, enabling you to move around better and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones. The exact mechanism by which exercise enhances strength remains unclear, but its basic principles are understood. Overall, two processes appear to be involved: hypertrophy, or the enlargement of cells, and neural adaptations that enhance nerve-muscle interaction.
Strength training could add years of life and protect you from some major killers. Having stronger muscles seems to decrease the chance of getting cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. There is even evidence that it can improve your memory and prevent cognitive decline.
Getting Stronger Is All About Strengthening Your Weaknesses
Identify your strengths. Before you consider your weaknesses, take a little time to consider your strengths.
Identify where you could use some improvement. Consider the benefits of changing. Set specific goals. Embrace the challenge.
Inner strength means the possession of willpower, self-discipline and staying power. It is resilience, perseverance and tenacity. It means inner fortitude. It expresses itself as assertiveness, courage, and the ability to withstand difficulties and obstacles.
It gives them a sense of independence and allows them to better themselves both mentally and physically. Strength training is also the fastest way to improve your muscles and your physical endurance, and it can help you perform everyday tasks.
